Anyone know of any helpful websites carrying parts for military surplus trailers, such as the M416? I just bought one with a frame in great shape, new heavy duty axle, bearings, rims, tires, parking break in tact and works great, pintle in original and working shape. Only thing is the tub is patched to heck and back, to the point it looks bad. REAL bad. (pics look better than in actuality). I'd love to get a replacement tub. I also need a canvas cover for it... one with the eyelets so I can tie it down.

    Thanks!

    For canvas:

    New Life Resource Management
    418 N. Main Street
    PO Box 176
    Bakersfield, VT 05441
    voice 802-827-6124
    fax 802-827-3660
    nlrm@together.net

I bought both the flat tarp and "covered wagon canvas" from them for the Bantam, IIRC the flat tarp was $85 a couple of years ago.

Thanks Tumbleweed! I checked out the jeepanels plus and he does list the rear panel I need for the M416.

Thanks Mike! I actually thought about your personal website after I listed this and followed it to your trailer project for hints and resources, as well. The seller also had a BT3-C but would not part with it PERIOD!

I was originally thinking "replacement tub" for the trailer but the floor is in good shape. Even the spring loaded drain plugs operate perfectly and I'm not sure if I can even find a replacement tub that it would have those! The rear panel is in awful but patched shape as it appears someone rear-ended the trailer at some point. I even thought if I am replacing that rear panel, why not go "tailgate". Thoughts?

I briefly entertained the idea of replacing the squared fenders for round ones but discarded that idea as the current ones are replacements that are in perfect condition.

I'm also going to have the interior of my CJ5 Rhino-lined and will do the inside of the trailer as well.

I can't imagine using the trailer w/o a tailgate, but some folks get upset over cutting up anything remotely original...;)

Makes outside storage handy -- I pull the tailgate off during the winter and prop the front of the trailer up so all snow and rain drain out (not having great drainplugs..;)

I'm partial to round fenders...:D But then again you can't set a  on them... ;)

Looks great! What about the bows? Hand fabricated or was there a source for those? And... does the cover hold up well at modest highway speeds? Thx!
