    What's the best way to test an underseat gas tank for leaks before selling it. It's outta the JEEP and just want to make it's good before unloading it. Looks real good but I want to be sure. Thoughta bout filling it with water but I'm not real crazy about that. TIA

    water would work, make sure you dry it well.

    The safest way is with a smoke machine. Most places that build or repair tanks that I have seen use LOW pressure (air if it's virgin, nitrogen if it has fumes in it) and soap. Spray it down and look for bubbles. A problem with water is that it won't leak through some small places that gasoline will.
