I have a set of those bolt on steps with the diamond pattern stamping. I may have someone interested in buying them. But, I am not sure they are for a cj5. So, can anyone tell me the difference between the Ecj5 bolt on steps vs the flat fender steps? Something to do with the mounting brackets as I recall but not sure. Thanks.

Is it possibly one vertical leg is shorter than the other (mounts to hat channel)? I don't know what the flatfender ones are like.

Did some digging on the 2A page. What I have found is that the flat fender jeeps use a different rear support leg. It is angled, vertically, whereas the cj5 step uses two rectangular supports. Straight legs. No angle. Aside from this, I don't know of any other differences at this point.

The vertical leg/supports for a CJ5 has close to an inch difference in length because the longer one mount to the floor, and the shorter leg mounts to the bottom of the hat channel as Zoomer stated.
I think the flat-fender steps have equal length legs that both bolt to the floor.
