I'm running an LS and a SM465 so there's not much room for stuff under mine. I crossed the exhaust over near the back of the transmission. I'm using the stock cross member mounted to the SM465/Dana 18 adapter and it sits a little aft of where it would be normally. The exhaust crossover kind of tucks in near the crossmember.

I appreciate the help and seeing how others do it. Do you have the longer adapter or the 1" one? I have the 1" one and the original crossmember would hit the transfer case which makes the mounting system in the instructions from AA not possible but maybe I am missing something.

My SM465 cross member is cradled like that as well. I run two cross members and then have a plate between them that the mount is bolted to. You can see it in # 5 and 11 -

I'm using the adapter from Advance Adapters and it's about 4 inches thick. Here are some more pictures. My exhaust hangs about an inch below the cross member. Also, be sure to put a couple of clamp joints on the crossover so you can take it apart in the field. Mine was completely welded up, and we had to cut it to do some work on the clutch.

Well I got my broken bolts out. It’s a blind hole so now I have to decide whether to put a stud in.

im going to order the Dave’s custom crossmember kit with the dom tubing and isolators at the frame connection so this doesn’t happen again.

Finally finished building my crossmember from the Dave’s custom kit. It’s alittle beefier than I need, but with the sm465 it does have to hold up a lot of weight.

On to the next issue. During test drive, right as I was taking off from the driveway, it let out the loudest muffler backfire I’ve ever heard and now won’t start.

frustrating since it didn’t touch the ignition, fuel or exhaust system...or at least it didn’t intend to. Ran perfectly fine before this about a month ago.

Well, I guess it was just a bunch of unburned fuel or the coil wire got loose...let it sit, redid timing and ran it around and no more problems.

Finally making headway on relocating the front shocks. Between the tie rod flip and and yj spring plate, my shocks were taking a beating.
I have it all tacked in, cycled the suspension, and once I move the brake lines, I don’t think I have any more interference.

I tried notching the rocky road spring plate before it did this, but my tie rod still hit at minimum steering.

after looking at it with my local exhaust shop we ended up copying your routing and crossing over near the front of the engine. I flexed it to bump stops and I didn’t hit, so I’m happy. Thanks for the ideas!

Glad it worked out, looks like you used the same shock towers as I did, looking good!

Status update - I tested out the flex and finally have all the interference issues resolved I think, and bump stops at the height where they need to be. I did the driver side wheel well notch and luckily measured about right and the tire clears the notch by about 1/4" at full stuff. I can finally say the RR yj suspension and tie rod flip project is done.

The back end still seems to hit pretty hard coming down a bump: I don't know if that is because the shackles are still not at the right angle, I need to adjust the RS9000 shocks, or if that just what it is - but it is just fine-tuning at this point.

The alignment place (which is very trusted here in town) said I needed a trackbar like someone else was told on the forum. Said it was because when you turn the steering wheel you can see the body shift over the axle/wheels. Maybe I need to tighten up the shackle and spring hanger bolts? Odd.

I have finally started installing a Holley 2gc sniper system, with their in-tank pump for an intermediate cj5 (I already had converted to a rear plastic fuel tank). I have already studied the prior FI pages like a kid studying for finals. Once I'm done (assuming it works), I'll post up the part numbers as long as no one totals up the cost and tells me so I can remain intentionally ignorant.

I'll start posting up pictures next week (when I see if my solutions work), but so far here are the issues I have run into:
    1) mounting the new unit. I got hung up on instruction No. 1 of 1000. There were two issues: a) I need a spacer because the base hits the raised thermostat area on the intake manifold. b) the exhaust crossover vents are not covered by the gasket/base. Hopeful solutions: JB weld for vents, and a 1/2" spacer.
    2) The coolant sensor is too large for the original sensor location, or the other port I have. Solution: odd 1/4NPT to 3/8NPT adapter. I'll also move the existing temp gauge sensor to a port on the passenger rear.
    3) The in-tank pump doesn't require a return line, so the fuel "out" port on the FI needs to be plugged. Solution: 6an male plug.
    4) When you don't buy the sniper master fuel kit, you don't get the hose end for the fuel "in" port. Solution 6an hose end with socketless barb.

Crank sensor: Truckee is helping me see if his custom wheel and bracket will work for my application, but what I found out is there are many variations of the crank harmonic balancer. If it doesn't work, I may just use Norcal's method but use socket head bolts instead of bolts with keystock welded to it. I have the holley sensor which is longer than the corvette one some use, so I will have to come off perpendicular to the crankshaft. The fuel block off plate seems perfectly in plane with where I need it, so a flat bar may work.

I lucked out and had a decent place for the O2 sensor which I could get a right angle drill on, and the earl's fuel line is very easy to work with and mounted up was easier than steel line. I wanted to keep my existing steel line, but due to increased pressure, you have to have a compression fitting ($$ adds up) or roll a barb at the ends (I don't know how to). I ended to moving the fuel hose to the passenger frame rail, since the drivers is way too crowded due to brakes, electrical, etc.

Is Holley claiming their system will work with an oddfire V6 now or do you have an even fire?

I have an oddfire. I am going to use a crank sensor to feed the sniper the rpms. A few others (Norcal, Truckee) on here have done it to sniper as well as Howell's version, and they seem to say it works.

Okay I am keeping my fingers crossed for you. If it goes well I am adding this to my list of things to do. I know Norcal did it with the Howell system, I didn't know anyone had done it with the Holley Sniper.

[IMG] We’ll slow process on the sniper install, due to only getting to work on it a few sundays.
The electrical is pretty much done and in looms and tied up. I still haven’t found the correct spacer for the base of the FI. The coolant sensors were not so bad after getting the right adapters.

I finished my take on the crank sensor, and it looks like it will work. The fuel pump block off plate is perfectly in plane with what I needed…rare when things work out. I used socket head bolts so they would be uniform if the spun for some reason.

here are the only decent pictures I got:

So I experienced my first shackle inversion in the rear with the rocky road yj junk…followed quickly be it inverting several more times.
    Advice for fixing?
    1) boomerang shackles?
    2) unbolting the forward bracket and rewelding it a little bit further to the rear
    3) unbolting forward shackle and welding on a yj perch?
    4) throwing the front brackets trough rocky roads windows with a grumpy note attached
