Amc Blue Engine Paint

Look on Amazon, that is where I got it, seems it was around 12 to 14 dollars for a spray can.

Above is clearly metallic, and the '74-up color is solid.



This is a 1974 AMC Matador 258 with the solid color paint.

 

Yep. that is the same color as my April 74 mfg. 304.

Anticipating removing my cylinder heads. Would like to find the solid light blue. My CJ was steam cleaned today so now colors are visible.




Interesting that the cylinder head color is much darker. Makes me wonder if the heads have been off in the past?

 

That blue in your photos looks like regular blue Ford engine paint you can get at any parts store.

I used Seymour Hi-Tech AMC Blue Metallic for the "craigslist rebuild" of my 304. I don't think it looks factory, but I do like the way it looks. I'll use it again for my upcoming 360 install.

 

That is indeed an attractive color.

 

I ended up going with Motor Coater by KBS Coatings in '73-81 AMC Engine Blue'. Attached is a photo of the motor, taken the day after I painted it.
