Hi all, I am searching for stock style manifolds. Not for restoration, just wanting to go back to oem-like and ditch the fender well headers. What would be the “best” 231 passenger manifolds(2) to request from junkyards.

Reason I ask for specifics is no local yards tend to have older stuff, so it’s going to be an online yard.

Did you try a WTB ad in the appropriate forum here?

No, saw a few wtb’s that didn’t look like they were fulfilled. Rather give a fellow member money before a yard

Going to post now, but if anyone has a “best” year ie:no smog tubes, efe valve, etc it would be a good resource

    thanks timgr

Yes, most threads point to an interchange guide-link broken. I assume it’s from an earlier format of this site. Again, not trying to be lazy just thought that someone might have a sure fire donor car and year range because there aren’t yards full of Buick’s around here.

A very nice member offered a sale of one with a heat riser, which I can gut. Just didn’t know if a specific car would get away from all unnecessary parts.

There was at least one calamity in the past couple of decades, when the site was moved from a failed server to another. All the technical library links were lost, though most have been restored. You might contact the current mods and ask for help finding that document. You could also post another message in this forum with a descriptive title of what you need. Or someone might reply here.

You could look on the Wayback machine at the post in question. Maybe the link will work there.

Possible that no one person on the board can give you a comprehensive answer.

FYI - I never really came up with a 'best' car manifold to get. It was hard enough to just get them at the time, but memory says (and its a bit rusty) to focus on the Regals that had 231s. I think they were better than Skylarks, but I know I've used both.

I've since moved to headers - outside the frame rail and block huggers. I helped Eric at Novak design the ones he sells. They are made by Sanderson still I believe. Might be an option to look at.

Thanks warloch. Those hugger headers look great but not what I am going for. It currently has outside frame headers and glasspacks.

    Thanks for the regal tip.

I have no idea what vehicle these came off of but maybe the numbers on them will help your search. Both these bolted onto my Dauntless and worked as rear dump. Good luck.
