I want to put a smaller steering wheel in my 1970 cj5. it has the original 17" bus wheel and with my 24:1 saginaw box i cant whip that large wheel around fast enough if i need to make a quik steering adjustment. i like the ratio the Saginaw box provides. my jeep is pretty light after the chevy 153 swap, so even with manual steering and 32" tires it feels like the old Buick land yacht power steering. is there any options for a smaller wheel, like a 15" diameter one?

You have to buy an aftermarket steering wheel adapter, then your choices are endless.

Ayuh,..... The hub is the key,.... When I got my cj 5, it had a small aftermarket steerin' wheel in it, 'bout 10 or 12" diameter, but with a 6 or 7" dish,.....
Drivin' the jeep, I felt like an ole '60s Ed Roth cartoon,.... lefthand up high, 'n to the left,......

I dug up an ole boat steerin' wheel, 'bout 9 or 10" diameter, with a 2" dish,.....
I ended up mountin' it to the hub, upside down,.....
It's much, Much more comfortable now, but I still gotta move the drivers seat a couple inches to the left, to get closer to center,....

I got all this from summit for under $200. I'm happy with it.

That 4405 part fits the original manual steering column?

Yes, fits exactly. Stock column is 36 spline 3/4" shaft.

Do you have a part number for that steering wheel, by chance?
