Update :  I found the tool ,Too. It's the Bueghler on eBay. Brand New.... they go from about $ 150 to up around $ 350 for an extensive kit .

    I've made an offer for a smaller , used kit, MUCH less than that . We'll see, & here's hope'n .,

I installed the Pertronix Ignitor kit on the Dauntless. I still need to hook up the vacuum gauge for fine tuning, so I’ll have an update later after a Jeep drive. It was a very easy swap! A special Thank you to @maurywhurt for the tips and pictures of the Pertronix swap on his Dauntless. (Great talking with you too!)

That is awesome. My wife asked the other day when she could start, I pointed at the thermometer, not quite time at 6000'.

My wife hopped in mine Saturday to get it out of the way of the new to her piano. She seemed pleased it started right up! (She hasn't driven it since the TBI swap)

The Ignitor II has a built in safety feature that prevents this, and the Ignitor III has a built in rev limiter! But for a stock motor they say to use the basic Ignitor, the one I installed. Definitely don’t want to burn it up!

I've had an original Ignitor on my Dauntless for well over a decade now, and it's been completely trouble free. And in a number of other applications over the years. It's a great product, in my experience.

After the fact I considered if it was actually the contacts in your ignition switch and the problems you had with the efi dropping out made me wonder more. Monday morning quarterback probably should have jumped around your ignition switch before changing distributors...

That's what I think...... At least 3 times I have accidentally left the key on in my jeep until the battery went dead and it never hurt the Pertronix. My jeep is wired so that when the key is in the off position everything is off. If I wanted to turn the headlights or hazards on without starting the engine I would need to turn the key to either accessory or run position. Several times I have forgotten the key was in the accessory position.... like say working on fuel gauge float adjustment...... :banghead: and when I called it a night I forgot to turn off the key. Came back 2 days later to a dead battery, charged it up and everything was fine. I wish I could say it only happened once...

You now have some of my work in your hand. We have been providing chrome plating and black oxide to S.B. Buegler for many years (30+). The guide rods have the black oxide coating; the bodies and caps (with the wheel) are chrome plated. I don't reconize the parts from the onther end. Never a high volume but a long time customer. I don't remember ever seeing one fully assembled. After a while I start looking at customer's orders as "parts is parts". Many times a visitor will look at something and ask what it is and I have to shrug and say it's a part.

Changed the old Uber junk high backs for low back front seats. These seats popped up for sale and when I finally got ahold of the fella he’d realized they were worth much more than $25 a seat. We settled on $100 for both front seats and the passenger seat brackets. When I got there I offered $200 for both front seats and brackets so after loading the seats and checking out his collection (a pair of hardtop 3a’s and a dauntless powered nearly rust free half cab early 5) I turned around and motored 5 hours back home.

The issues (cage) I thought I’d have, I didn’t. The drivers height position I assumed would be an issue absolutely was. So I removed the sliders, spacers and drilled the factory brackets to Hard mount the driver seat. I’m slightly higher than the old seats but they’re so much more comfy and the look is closer to correct in my opinion. The passenger seat bracket needed some weld and reshaping on the pins to keep in engaged. It would effortlessly pull out in any position. Mucho better now.

I’d post pictures but apparently I’m having issues
