So, how low can I actually go? ‘75 w/304. Hankook 31x10.5. I’m down to 20psi and still not getting complete contact to the road, about 1” on inside/outside never touches pavement

On my 8 ply 7.50-16s I need to be around 9psi on the trail. On the road 12psi is as low as I want to be. 16-20 seems good.

Depends a lot on the tire rating and the weight of the rig. On the road, I run 26psi in my JK, 22 in my tj and 15 in my CJ. Off-road they’re all at 8psi

Well, I did the next best thing. I bought a set of 30 X 9.5 KM3. I wanted something a little more narrow anyway. So far, they haven’t disappointed. Nice cushy ride at 25psi

V6, roll cage, winch, tire carrier, 15gal rear fuel, I like my 31" BFG AT at 22psi.

You can take a piece of chalk and draw wide stripes across the tread. Drive 100 yards or so and see where the chalk is worn off. In the middle indicates too much air pressure, more off the outsides is under inflated. Evenly across and you’ve found the sweet spot.

Almost sounds like the rims are too narrow. What width are they?

I saw this but misread it the first time. Glad you got the problem taken care of. :)
