If somebody stole the hood it’s gonna fly up and break their windshield, causing them to veer off the road and in the process loose the tailgate, which will bounce up and lodge in the thief’s azs….. so you got that going for ya.
Alarm system could handle this well with micro-switches.

If anything on your Jeep gets stolen make sure and start a thread on all the Jeep forums to be on the lookout. When I first joined I saw someone whole Jeep was stolen. That puts a lot of us on the lookout. ( By the way..ask the OP about hoods flying up:D )!!!!!

Think he would still use a 44 mag or pehaps one of the more effective "modern" options?

Luckily where I live I do not have to worry about such things. But after reading this I got to thinking about something. How about using a electric fence unit. There very small and could fit in the engine compartment very easy. Would take a little figuring on how to ground it, be able to turn it off easy, etc. But if all the details were worked out believe me if anybody went to touch your jeep they would let go of it in a hurry. I have a couple of them I am not using in my barn, might do some tinkering to see what I can come up with.

i have a friend with a tilt up garage door. Someone kept trying to open it in the middle of the night, so he rigged the handle with one of those. Needless to say, their next time trying to open the door was also their last time.

I’d be careful Bobby trapping. If I was dumb punk I’d break some stuff or worse set a fire if I got shocked.

Bobs do tend to get irritated when trapped. Electric fencers do get one's attention.

You are not the first to think of this.

But law enforcement takes a dim view, especially the parking ticket officers.

But how about maybe just a sparkle bomb?

Bastards stole the tailgate right off my brothers CJ3A one night when he swung in to grab a six pack, he was only in for 2 min. It was a rare one, and years ago, it never showed back up and I'm sure it's hanging on the wall somewhere locally. Still pisses me off!
