Good day, does anyone have a 10.5 inch clutch cover laying around that they could measure for me? All I need is the distance across between holes, to the outer edge of each hole.
I currently have an 11 inch clutch on my 360 and was hoping I could put a 10.5 on there, the clutch selection is better and I can go from a B&B style to a diaphragm style.
The clutch cover I have now measures exactly 12 inches to the outside of the holes, as measured across the diameter. I can't find one locally to measure. I would have to order one to see if it fits. My flywheel only has one set of holes for the clutch, there is another set of holes right at the very edge by the starter teeth, but I am guessing that is for a flexplate/torque converter. Thanks.

Flex plates bolt direct to the crankshaft, replacing the flywheel.
I have a new diaphragm style pressure plate in the box at my shop I can measure for you.
I will be over there later today. It is for replacement on my 304 but should be the same.

Yes, the 304 in the CJ and Commando takes a 10.5" clutch normally. Same diameter as the 258. The "HD" 258 clutch is the same as the 304 CJ ... not sure this means anything to the aftermarket parts. The 304 in the truck and wagon (optional '71-72) takes an 11" clutch, no change in flywheel. Note that the crank flange for '71 is different, but this does not affect the CJ.

Do you have a part number on your flywheel? An OEM flywheel should have a part number cast-in, like 3212653 (304) or 3212651 (360).
