Did you get this bronco from a rustier part of Texas? It seems much worse than your jeep was. Lookin' good though!

Well, apparently I must have got it from a rustier part of somewhere, and oh yes, it's much worse than anything I've ever owned, but I'm tenacious enough to see it through. If I weren't so cheap(which I'm not), I should have just bought a new tub and been done with it, but I'm kind of enjoying the challenge of "body work". I've seen jeeps and other projects in much worse shape, so I'm not going to complain. I think it will be nice when I'm done despite having spent way too much money on it. But this was an expensive project from the get-go. Let's just see this through;)

I can't tell you guys how it pains me to sit idle during holidays when I have this calling to get back on this Bronco! lol

I have a bunch of parts coming; just waiting to see those parts sitting at my fence line! Once the parts arrive, I'll be going back together soon and progress will accelerate, but I'm not in a big hurry, I am, but I'm not , however, the holidays just slow things down; I'm not the kind of person which can do one little thing on a project, I'm only happy with an entire day to make some progress;)

The bed is just hanging by a thread of parts which are tolerably ok. I could have bought an entire bed, fully assembled for 3500 + a bunch of s/h. But where would be the fun in that

I squeaked this in while the kids were playing video games; I could have bought this new piece, about 45 + s/h + tax, but I try to salvage what I can.

I have my weld thru primer and can weld this on just to get it out of the way.

I should be back at play by Monday and hope to report cool things soon!!!
    dne' ;)

Well my dearies, kids are gone, I love em, but nice that we have our house back. Sadly kids spend most of their time on either their cell phone, TV, or now~ Virtual reality games!

I had just enough energy to whittle this corner off and kind of see how the new piece looks. I'm not welding anything in place, if fact I need to order some self-tapping screws to hold things in place, I certainly don't have enough welding vise-grips!
This first pic is from a few weeks ago test fitting the lower quarter panel.

Then got a boatload of parts yesterday to play with :bananatool:

If I have enough time, energy, I'll start on the other side, then figure how to put it all together;) you know, like making it all square;) This was pretty easy to remove, ok, a little of a pita;) This is not welded in place yet.

Hi;) got to test fit the drivers side parts, the rocker looks like it's going to mess with my brain getting it to fit. I wish I hadn't put my engine on the frame:madwife:, I really need to put the body back on the frame somehow and the engine will be in the way, it's going to require some thinkin.

The drivers side is held together enough for me to disassemble the passenger side. The door post is ok, just looks little grimy, but will clean up. I have a piece of 16 gauge to patch the major floorboard. I probably should have replaced it, but I think I can patch it up ok, then it will be covered in sound proofing after paint. The doors, as bad as they are will still be helpful in lining up the doorways, getting the gaps correct and lines satisfactory. The doors are gutted and at least manageable.

Tomorrow (if all goes to plan), put the engine back on the engine stand, start organizing the body to be able to pick it up; plans subject to change :coffee:

Got the engine off;) and the rolling chassis is ready to roll under the body~ whenever~

Turned the bed around to mock it up and give me a feeling of accomplishment~ just has a couple screws holding it on the cab, but supported by my crane.

Amazingly, just hap hazardly lines up, but it's not at all "lined up", but almost looks like a Bronco;)

Anyway, I did what I said and said what I did;) I can pat myself on the back! :D

I finally put the cab portion on the frame, my overhead crane is supporting the passenger side as there is no floor support yet. I have it, just haven't installed it. I took a little time to clean shop, blew out all the nasty dust, crude and this remarkable wind help push it out;) A front is on its way.

I found a brand new in the box drivers door, dynacorn, 150bucks! :bananatool:

Should be nice cool weather to play tomorrow;)

Hi guys! I've been busy with some other things, but finally got back to the Bronco, floor pans and floor in general has been the thing right now, well, and other. Next week family will be here and so there will be no fun with my toy:(

Nothing is really welded in except some of the main floor; it's just screwed together with self tapping screws.

I spent the rest of today putting the Bronco on the 4-post, I think this will really help when I get back out there. I did install the aftermarket hood for alignment purposes and it's aligning up alright so far.

The rocker panel I think will give me a lot of problems, not looking forward to those:(
    [IMG]

I was hoping to get to mocking up the bed, but that's just going to have to wait.

I'm ready for tomorrow to see what I can get done before the weekend gets here~
    dne' ;)

Had to go back to your first post about this Bronco to remind myself what it looked like when you got it. Quite the project you have there. The new metal sure does look good. Thanks for bringing us all along on your trip.

Thanks guys! I'm having a time with body alignment, driver door mainly, but really all of it, and now that holidays are here, the Bronco is on the backburner until another week or so :( But it's nice to have the kids/grandkids over;)

Great work. That is going to be fantastic when you are done. I rebuilt a Bronco for a friend of mine. If you get a chance go to the Classic Bronco Forum and search for "Tony's 69". It was a fun project.

Your front inner fender well is relieved for the stock power booster. Might be a good time to contemplate both power and disc brakes.

Gee, I didn't see a notice for the responses, sorry Tom, and jeep daddy. Jeepdad, I did purchase a drivers inner fender which allow for the booster and I have already upgraded to front disc brakes.

It had been rather crazy around here with kids and grandkids, they took over our home! lol But they're all back in the nests and I'm set and ready to resume. Last week I did sneak in some work on the bed, it's pretty much completed except for permanent installation. I had ordered a new passenger door but it was on back order and kind of hard to find, so I bought a new skin and see what I can do with that. However, it's pretty much lined up in a rough sense.

I fought the drivers side door getting an acceptable gap and finally got it there, so I'm going to finish up some spot welded tomorrow and wrap up the floors. It kind of looks like a bronco at this moment;)
