So what holds the defroster duct up in place. None of the aftermarket ducts I've seen have mounting holes.

Screws from the top as I remember. Haven’t done mine yet but I recall talking to Carl from Walcks about it. So fold windshield down but don’t remember if you have to drill holes or no.

Thanks. I guess the new plastic ones just use self tapping screws into the plastic flange.
If I was smart, I would have installed it before the dash and roll cage!:(

You can always drill through holes and use nut-clips on the duct.

I used metal screws designed for plastic.

Part of my problem, is that I "Chose Poorly" when building my new dash and placement of the new instrument. After tilting the windshield, I realized I had no room for the stock aftermarket duct, or the Willys Wagon spare I have.
I scrounged through a box of plumbing fittings and used 1 1/2" ABS pipe with a couple elbows and a t with the flanges cut off. Then added a short stub of 1 1/2" pipe with 1 3/4 Vent hose attached..
It slid right up in place and screwed down with a pair of countersunk stainless Philips screws. I then sealed around the outlets with Goop.
It's not pretty, but it's done and Out of Site and Out of Mind.
