Another argument against the four barrel. A four barrel carburetor typically has vacuum operated or progressive linkage on the secondary barrels. The EFI systems do not. All four barrels open at once. This can cause the throttle to be very touchy off idle and at low speeds. A little throttle movement lets in a lot of air. Exactly what you don't want in a Jeep. A right-szeed two barrel witll have much better driveability.

Any reason why the 2300 and not the 2gc that mimics what was stock?
I also have had the EFI sniper kit in my "cart" a few times but chickened out before I hit buy...

It's ordered, I got the 2bbl (refurbished for $200 less) and the in-tank pump system that is made for the Jeep rear 15gal tank. Going to use the aluminum 4bbl manifold with an adaptor. $1400 total with all the parts and a new air cleaner.

I pulled the Offy intake and 390 off my engine. Went back to the iron intake and 2gc. With a T18 and 5:38 gears the 4bbl was useless. Let out the clutch, tap the gas, push in clutch, shift, repeat ad nauseum.
I also was having vapor lock issues which may or may not have been due to heat transfer from the aluminum intake. I had no room for a carb spacer to help with it. It runs much better now.
I see you have a 2gv on that even fire. I dont know if it shares the large 2gc bolt pattern. I'm sure theres an adapter out there if not.

If you are running an aftermarket aluminum intake then you want the 2300 with an adapter to the 4bbl intake.
If you are running the stock intake then you want the 2GC so that it will bolt right on.

Keep in mind, that Scott is changing to an even fire engine so his will be plug in play. If you intend to install this on your odd fire then you may need to use a crank sensor setup to get it to run correctly.

The crank sensor write ups on here have definitely made this less scary or experimental. It’s hiding the big summit invoice from my wife that is intimidating me.

Question for you guys that have done EFI @Jw60, @Norcal69:

Where did you run your fuel source and return lines with respect to the exhaust headers? Could you post up a pic or two? Once you got then as far aft as the brake reservoir, did your lines enter the frame rails? How did you run the return line to the top of the tank - through the rear support kick-up riser wall on the body? And lastly, did you run rubber hose the whole way or steel line?

I don't really like how mine is routed but with frame mounted pedals I have hard line on the tub with flex to the tbi itself. My lines run on the tub above the clutch cables to the bottom of the tank. for pickup and the return is from above with the obround access I added to the tank.

Biggest issue is any blip in fuel supply will stall it quickly so I will be adding a surge tank.

My setup is a bit different than yours.
I am running dual tanks with a 6 way valve.
The front under seat tank that I have is the 6 screw model with outlet and return on the bottom of the tank, sticking through the floorboard.
The rear tank outlet and return come through the sending unit in the top of the tank.
All lines plumb to the 6 way valve that is located in the front of the rear floor, sticking up between the seats. Prior to my new exhaust install the fuel lines ran up the passenger side frame rail, up the toeboard and into the TB at the rear of the engine.
With my new exhaust system, the lines transferred to inside the drivers side frame rail and zip tied up with the brake lines and wiring for now. They run above the MC lid, up the front of the triangular toeboard brace that is in between the pedals and over to the engine.
The stock gm TBI setup runs on 12psi and while hose is not ideal but works just fine for the application. My long term plan is to convert to steel line and fittings that will attach to the hat channels and run straight from the rear, up the firewall and over to a 16" long hose for TB connection.

Thanks guys. I have a stock under seat tank and my body is currently off the frame, so I'm trying to decide whether to plumb everything up now (and choose steel lines or the hose that came with the Sniper) or wait until the body is painted and on and then run everything.

Mine arrived last week while I was away...
In tank pump uses no return line as the pressure regulator is part of the assembly.

My fuel pump is in the under seat tank. I ran the fuel and return lines out the back of the transverse ledge support. Then it runs over the transfer case, up the left side of the transmission. Then up the back of the block to the TBI.
Another thing I found. I almost blew out the tank from pressure build up. I had to install a vent in the tank and had that plumbed into a carbon canister, with a vacuum line going to the TBI. This setup is just like the setup that was on the S-10 that I got the motor out of.

I also recommend covering the fuel lines with heat shield tubing. This will help to keep the heat down.

Scott - are your lines a mix of steel and hose? Do you have a p/n or link for the vent you installed? And what is the purpose of the vacuum line from the vent back to the TBI - I'm curious about how that works/what it does. Thanks!

Yes, currently the lines are steel with short sections for hose at the connections. I don't have a vent currently with my dauntless. I do have a pump with a return line and the tank has a bit of positive pressure when I drive more than a few minutes. The Sniper system with in tank pump and no return I suspect I may end up with negative pressure, so I'll likely need some sort of vent. Have you looked at the options for that? Let me know if you come up with something.

The proper gas cap for a 66 CJ is vented. This one from Walck's would work: Fuel Cap Original Style CJ Under Seat Tank
