I was randomly perusing the TA Performance website and came across a new product.
They have new reproduction power steering brackets for the 455. This bracket looks identical to the one I used in my power steering set up. This bracket is the high mount style of course, which are getting hard to find. What do you guys think? Is this a new source for power steering brackets?

Won't work on a 225. Looks the same but it's not. BTDT.

I don’t know about the cast silver one.
The black stamped ones will fit, but puts the pump almost hitting the inner fender and gives you no adjustability to get the belt tight. On mine I either had to clearance the fender or go with original junk yard parts I found on eBay…I went with junkyard.

    If they're for a 455, they won't work.
My experience was the same as Cayenne, it'll put the pump clear out into the fender.

The aluminum brackets are all the same. The steel adjuster brackets are different for the 455.

POWER STEERING STAMPED STEEL BRACKETS - (2 PC)

THIS IS TWO OUT OF THE THREE 400/455 POWER STEERING BRACKETS THAT ARE THE HARDEST TO FIND.

ALL YOU WOULD NEED IS THE TRIANGULAR BRACKET, WHICH IS THE SAME ON 350/400/455 ENGINES. OUR PART (1378150)

The low brackets simply work a lot better in any Jeep then the high ones. I wouldn't even consider a high mount for a Jeep.

While I respect your time in this hobby, and I have not been in this jeep game as long as you, I have installed both the low and high brackets. I would never recommend the low mount to anyone. Unless they had some under hood accessory that was more valuable than power steering.
    1) The low mount places the power steering pump close to the engine and exhaust heat sources. Big negative if your doing much offroad.
    2) That space is already cramped. When you add in steering shaft, hoses ect..... it gets worse.
    3) Distributor access is hard enough. Put an HEI in it and it gets worse.
    4) Lower makes it much harder to bleed air out of the system.
    5) Its a bear to change the hoses.
    6) The high bracket places the pump straight up and down. Much less chance of spilling fluid when on an angle.
    8) Getting to the distributor hold down bolt is already hard enough. That low mount makes it worse.

Maybe some folks aren't familiar with the Jeep Buick 350/ 68-72 Skylark high power steering mount. I'll get some pictures for this thread.

Here are installed pics of a high mount Buick Skylark/ Jeep Buick 350 power steering bracket. I can get my hand in between the fender well and the pump.
These are the same brackets that Jeepster Guru sells.
A 1/2" shorter belt would make more room if it bothered me.....
Heck' I think you could get away with front dump exhaust with this bracket.
Any flavor of Saginaw pump may be used. This particular one is a metric saginaw pump from a 90' YJ with off the shelf YJ hoses and YJ Box.

I had a whole thread about this same topic a couple of years ago when I mistakenly bought 455 brackets from eBay...

Are you sure you didn't get the 73 and later Buick 455 brackets?

I don't recall, I just thought the big block brackets were different from the 231/350 version.

Edit: found my earlier thread, some good info here.

You definitely had the 455 steel pump brackets, which project the pump more down and out toward the fender, whereas the 231-350 version is more of an up and out projection.
I believe that the aluminum base brackets are all the same.
I spotted this assembly on ebay yesterday and gave 4S50 a heads up. Looks like it's on the way to a new home in a CJ5. :) Its a little buggered up, but with a little patience it should work great.

I find it amusing that jeep called the 350 a Dauntless as well. I guess that jeep was probably a bit of an underdog and they wanted to sound beefy amongst the big 3.

Yep, I have a 350 Dauntless V8 sticker on the Buick 350 in the '71 because it's appropriate:

Also, the low mount power steering pump clears the fender fine (at least on a V8):
