I know I already have a thread on wiring, it that is specific to troubleshooting my 66 CJ5. I’m specifically asking what you have use for LED conversion in general. I’m need to replace my flashers, and I think I found a couple suitable replacements for this Littlefield 550. But I don’t want to reinvent the wheel if someone has already done this and found what works.

So does anyone know if any of these units work? Or if you have a better solution, please share it here.

I have LED lights on my FF. I purchased the flasher that I needed on ebay. They have many to choose from in the $5 to $10 price range shipping included.

May be different for a 1966, but...

I just came in from wiring Harbor Freight LED turn, stop tail lights on my 1978 CJ7 on-the-farm beater and every thing works as before. Didn't change out anything but the tail-lights (HF trailer lights). I didn't have to deal with back-up lights in the tail-light wiring, as my back-up light has been and is a separate, independent halogen work light.

Flash sequence on the turn signal is good, hazard flasher is good, brake lights good, tail-lights good and up front all lights work as they should. In my case, if it doesn't need fixing (more parts) I'll wait and see. Remember it's a doesn't-leave-the-farm beater, so I can run my "experiment".

Wherever you buy a flasher from, before you purchase one, check and make sure whether your flasher has two pins or three.

It turned out that like your '66, my '67 has a three-pin flasher. I bought this one, which has three pins plus a ground wire:

Amazon.com: CEC Industries EF33RL Flasher: Automotive

From what I understand, the ground wire is necessary due to the LED bulbs I used not creating sufficient load to operate a flasher that's ungrounded. It works fine, although for some reason the light in the Sparton turn signal switch housing flashes once after the turn signal lever has returned to center.

It’s clearly a 3-pin. I wasn’t sure if there were any specs that made some compatible or not, besides the pin layout. Thanks for the tip on the ground wire. I’ll hit advanced auto tomorrow and get what I need.
