Seth, you have at least enough parts and surplus trailers to make that a reality. Heck, you could probably even set it up with hydraulic rear rear rear steer!

been sitting here thinking about this setup, the trailer drive is powered by the pto................ so, it would only work in high range? or low range if they did the gearing in the trailer that way? just thinking out loud but if it was high range only it would be useless with any amount of weight, you would need the torque of low range to haul a load anywhere off road:?

i think its meant for very slow use. Thus the "can be disenguaged for highway use" by "highway they mean pavement and high speed. Plus i dont think a jeep can even pull itself up a 52% grade in high range lol

What's neat about this is that I lay in bed many nights thinking about this very same setup for a Brute that I'm preparing to build. It certainly can/will work and would be wonderful in low range pulling a load in the woods...OR an adventure trailer for that matter...on the trail. I love this thought!

I may have to go look through all my historical Jeep literature for this one. I don't think I've ever seen this one though... It's fun seeing "new" stuff like this!

    Thanks for posting!

This topic has been quiet too long! chainsawguy
    here is the shopping list:

    a rear pto,
    one of these: http://www.novak-adapt.com/catalog/kit_320.htm
a spare transfercase with matching gears to there jeep,
dana 44 with matching gears to said jeep,
    m416 or similar trailer,
    and a bunch of driveshafts?

If said parts are available, you must assemble and post pics / video.

and if you have 2 rear ptos and a pto winch you must post a video of said trailer pulling said jeep backwards.

I know this is very old, but looking for the original article. I'm doing research on Bantam and it appears that Willy might have asked Bantam to look at developing this. Any ideas where this came from?
