Believe it or not, this one has a Hummer Diesel in it.

I think you have plenty of height for a Weber. They are not that tall of a carburetor. The HEI looks great!

Got all 6 gauges working again. When I bought the Jeep, only the temp and oil pressure gauges were working. Some were as simple as either running new wires or literally reconnecting wires that had come free. Why the PO never bothered even attempting this beats me. I did however notice that the wires to the old ammeter had been flat out cut and removed. Rather than run new wires, I ditched the ammeter completely and put in a matching NOS SW voltmeter that I found online. Speedo is about 10ish mph off at 55mph, so I'll need to add a calibration gear/correction box at some point.

Swing out is all tacked up. I found some lh studs to screw with the thieves. Hi lift and 2 gal Rotopax tucked in nicely. I decided to space it out for 12.5 tires in case I ever change.
I'll send it off to my buddy to Tig it all up. My mig needs a new liner, don't feel like dealing with the spatter nor inconveniencing everyone in Co with having to disassemble it and stuff it in the back.
    Simple 5/8 hitch pin latch.

I built a bracket to mount an AC Delco GM 10SI 100 amp alternator on the Ford 302. I'm pretty happy with the alignment. I still need to get the correct 3/8" belt.

Started on installing a Spartan Locker on the rear D44.
There’s a lot of stuff to take apart before I can even get the carrier out.

My seats are pretty shot. I was thinking about just having them re-upholstered, but since they aren't original, I figured it would be cheaper to simply replace.
    IMG_0315.jpg

Since I wanted a matching rear seat anyways, I bought a set of Smittybilts, which came in the other day!
    IMG_0267.jpg

Got the rear installed pretty easily since it didn't have any old mounting hardware to deal with and was able to use the included mounting brackets that came with the seat.
    IMG_0317.jpg
    IMG_0316.jpg

The front two will take a little more effort however. The seat mounts are definitely a custom creation, and I'm not sure I'll want to reuse them. Since my fabrication skills can charitably be described as novice-level, I think I'll look around for an original set of mounts somewhere.

I got back onto the Ford 302 today and made an adapter plate to mount the ZF power steering pump from the Land Rover Donor car.
I started by cutting out a paper pattern and transferring the Rover and Ford patterns onto a 1" piece of T6 aluminum.
I slotted two of the holes for belt adjustment on the Ford head.
Bolted it all together and lined it up nice.
I also had to bore the center out of a different pulley and drill it to bolt up.

    The air filter finally arrived.

After last weekend I racked up quite the parts list. I've decided to go with Chromoly D30 shafts. I found a passenger side shaft in my junk stash so I'll use it for now. The power steering pump stopped assisting with the steering so I need another one of those. I'm ordering a set of 1310 joints and u bolts for spares, 3/8 synthetic winch rope, D ring shackles, and some other stuff. I don't know when our next trip out is but I think it'll be in Hot Springs and that's a much rougher terrain so I'd like to get my D20 fixed up for that trip. I noticed the D20 oil pan took a hit so a skid plate is probably warranted. My tires aren't holding up as well as I'd hoped so I'm searching for another set. I could probably run 34's without too much fuss.

Some Jackass doesn’t know how to use a torque wrench.

So he had to climb under the 3B to steal a bolt.

I made a steering column for the new power steering set up out of an old Yamaha YZ 250 fork leg, two bronze bushings, thrust washers and a piece of 3/4" round stock.
I had already drilled the new floorboards and mounted a rubber sealed U-Joint and D shaft from a late model Suburban.
I cut the fork leg to length and pressed in Bronze bushings and bored them to fit the 1" stainless hollow shaft.
I added a set screw collar and bronze thrust washer to the stainless shaft and rosette welded the 3/4" round stock for a Weld- On Quick Release steering wheel hub and 13.5" Grant wheel
I added grease fittings at both bronze bushings
On the bottom I added another bronze thrust washer and cut a snap ring groove to hold it all together.
It will mount to the CJ5 with Billet aluminum bolt together split clamps.

I threw the spray tank in the back of Farm Jeep Willy and laid down the glyphosate and 2,4d. It is jobs like this that Willy is made for.

Stuck the Bestop back on minus the windows. As much as I like being topless or only having the bikini top on I want the kids to be shielded from the sun to some extent so my Bestop is the option. Honstly I kind of like the look.
