Omix Windshield Frames

    Has anyone dealt with Omix replacement windshield frames? I need one for my 68 with bottom mounted wipers. Trying to decide between theirs and a clean original at a 30 percent premium. I'm guessing the answer is the obvious one but want to make sure.

    15-18 years ago I bought an OMIX 3A frame and the frame arrived with faulty welds. The replacement frame was OK. It worked for me as I was installing it on an MB for the additional hieght and wasn't looking for a perfect replacement.

    Farm Jeep Willy has a repop top wipers frame and I had to adjust it and trim a bit. It was sure better than dealing with rust though, and the original one was literally rotted in half.

    I've been around at least three Omix frames where the glass opening was smaller than the original. They needed custom cut glass. On one, I kept trimming the opening to match the original size. The recess for the gasket was off, but the gasket made up the awkward transition.
    Pay for the original if it isn't rusty.
