That's nice to hear! The biggest problem with Bodies is 6 days into it, he thinks he's fine and wants to play frisbee. He's under mild sedation to stay mellow long enough for the bone to heal.

It's a sidebar and meant to be stationary. If it starts swinging around there's an issue. :)
A word on my Jackman Wheels...They are rusty, don't run true, don't balance, and leak, but they look good and that's what's important.

My legs are too long to crawl into a high hood with anything in the way. I figured it opened like a door :)
And I believe you about the Jackies. I’m pretty sure that’s how they came from the factory

Today I swapped out my (severely) leaky offset flanged dana 44 for a two-piece one. The two-piece has a powrlok, and the original long term plan was to add spindles and full float axles to it, but for now it's a known quantity and even though I have big plans for the rear axle on my jeep, I want to focus on getting the engine and drivetrain installed rather than going through the flanged one now.

Used the XJ to flat tow another project home. This one isn't mine but a local shop is farming it out to me for side work because their work backlog is so extensive right now they feel they can't give it the attention it needs. Should be a simple project mostly. Owner is just looking to get it running for use around his property. All the emissions stuff is a mess. The radiator is full of mud :/ The carter carb is apparently in a million pieces in a box somewhere they can't find. Yay.

The Jeep itself looks decent. You do have some work to do! Just curious what year and is it a 232 or 258? Looks like it's a '76 or later.

80s. Not sure on exact year yet the shop wasn't full of info on it lol. It was a side project they took on for a guy that travels a lot and it was tucked in the back of the shop out of the way. I'll be going out later today to get a preliminary parts list drawn up and see what we're getting into here. I'll pull the vin off of it and decode it then.

Almost done. Just need another dash bar, a few small items, and we should be ready to rip.

Geoffreyl and I cruised about 30 leak free miles today. Carb cleaning up. Doors off and back window rolled up high 60's today.

My Dad has used Felpro gaskets for years, but personally I've had enough issues I'll use an alternative if available. Just not impressed with their stuff anymore.

Set up the fhead on the resurfacer and mowed it down. Only took off .024. The piston may protrude from the cylinder just a hair. Depending on the numbers used it's around an 8.75:1 CR. Of course, when I get new parts in hand I can get a more accurate number.

I've generally had good luck with Victor Rienz and Mr Gasket.

I've been thinking about having my own head gasket laser cut out of a thin sheet of copper. That would help bump up the compression some. I need to remeasure the exhaust valve clearance before I do anything like that though.
