    Slow progress yesterday

Have the headers mounted but cannot torque them down since i didnt have the right socket. ARP package was written a 3/8" 12 point but in reality it was a 10mm 12 points.

Also started working on the exit. I have try a 45 degree angle pipe but i need more. I may be able to reuse the elbow that was welded on my old muffler.

i don't like the idea of a 12 point socket. yes, it may hold up better, but a 6 point (if you use a 6 point wrench/socket) is similarly strong.

Its more about space for the socket to go over the bolt on the headers...a 3/8" bolt will require a 9/16" socket, a 3/8" bolt with 12 point require a 3/8" 12 point socket.

Also ARP a chromoly bolt, with a special heat treatment that will hold better the headers againts the heads.

Another side project, i'm a milwaukee retailer and i have packout system here. Unfortunaly they dont make the half mounting plate. So i ordered some from a guy on ebay that make them.

SO my plan is too mount them on each side of spare tire so i can have a cooler on a one side and a tool box on the other

Work a little during lunch time
Finished cutting and assembling the transmission cooler hoze. I put a " T " on the line going to the cooler so i can have a temp gage probe in it.

    157250530_137161151619688_7830629056837875595_n.jpg

Also worked on the lower radiator. I wanted to keep the original 3 row radiator along with my electric fan. If radiator was able to keep my 360 (5.9) amc cool i dont know why the radiator coulnd't do it with a smaller 5.3 engine. But keeping the original radiator i had to find a way to make it work with the gm engine.

GM engine has the input on the passager side but the oem raidator as the output on the driver side.

Working yesterday on what i like the most....working the oil leak, always a pleasure.

I got a leak on the radiator, one on the transmission line and one on the engine bypass plug.

I solve all of them....and didnt have any drip overnight.

    160144794_10157472870631621_8098713910951057127_n.jpg

Yesterday i gave a first road test.
Everything is working properly, have couple's thing to work out but nothing major. Still ne oil drip on the floor, really happy about this.

That's a really strange feeling to seat in the drive seat and trying to push down the clutch pedal.

Auto transmission is another feeling. Gave it a taste on lunch today in my driveway on the 4 low and this thing is violent.

Did some test in the snow....didnt take lot of time before getting stuck...

    161744408_145104577491127_7798624253400609317_n.jpg

Overall i'm happy with the set-up, lots of power :p

Only downside, i have lost all wheel feeling because i remove the clutch pedal. But auto make it easier to shift when spinning the wheel is needed

Also, running a mechanical temp gauge on the hot line of the transmission cooler is a bad idea, the gauge his now stuck since it cant handle the outgoing temp of the transmission oil. Having a gauge is superficial so i will leave it there for the moment.
