Hey1928 Chevy CJ5, forgot to ask, did the donor 69 Jeep happen to have the hood reflectors and mounts on it?, and if so would you be willing to sell them? Very difficult to find parts. Truck is looking great BTW!

Snoops...... I don't know what the hood reflectors look like.... but my box of parts that came with the 'donor' has 3 or four small, round (about 2" diameter) amber colored reflectors.... does this sound like them...? if so, I could send photos of them... I also have lots of other parts, I will put up for sale here on classifieds soon...

Thanks for looking, hood reflectors for 1969 and early model 1970's are unique to this year. Pic's below, sorry for the poor quality, pic's of pics, etc. The reflector part is available aftermarket, but not the "black wedge shaped mount" that keeps the reflectors perpendicular to the fender. Will be watching for your classified posts. IMG_0248.jpg IMG_0249.jpg

Moving forward... Installed the rebuilt Ross steering box.. and put the new jeep steering wheel in place to see about leg and knuckle clearance to the door panel and the dash.... I think I will buy a 15" wood rim wheel that sits out away from the dash 4 more inches.... thus giving me more knuckle and knee clearance than the 18" flat original steering wheel.. I installed and hooked-up the gas pedal and linkage.. cut down and modified the jeep dash so I could use the jeep glove box and the original speedometer and gauges... next isbuilding a basic wiring harness... and wiring it all up....

I love this whole project - except that bugger weld on the column bracket. What's up with that?

Bugger weld is made by an amateur welder... Me ..... they are strong... but ugly.... when in doubt... I have a tendency to over-do-it..... I will improve as I get more practice.....:)
check out classifieds... I have some new jeep parts for sale...

Soon be driving it out of the carport .... I am wiring it up right now,,,, tail gate is built and tail/brake lights mounted... rear bumper mounted and receiver hitch built & mounted..... Speedometer hooked up and wired & mounted.... ignition switch installed..... and cowl lights/turn signal lights being mounted & wired defroster vents cut into modified dash & defroster tubes installed... I will repaint tailgate and interior of bed dark british racing green, when I am done...(need to order another quart of paint)...... as you can see this is NOT going to be a flawless show vehicle.... it still has dents, cracks and chips and will be a hand made 4X4 truck... that is driven daily and used as a working farm/homestead truck.... but lots of fun to look at.... creating many smiling faces.... DSC08277.JPG DSC08280.JPG 12/11/20 Update.... I have been wiring it up without a harness... and I have straight HOT power direct from the Battery to,; Starter, the ignition switch & the always Hot fuse panel.....
then I have a switched (Ignition switch), larger Fuse Panel......... anyway... Now I have everything wired up ... except the head lights , and horn...... It has been a real challenge... and needs to be done

slowly, and carefully... I still need to bleed all the air out of, DSC08278.JPG DSC08276.JPG DSC08284.JPG DSC08282.JPG all new brake lines.... BEFORE I can move/Drive it.....
