My father is currently restoring a 1973 Jeep. The only complete kit for body mounts that comes with washer and bolts is Omix. What is everyones opinions on this kit? Ive heard mixed reviews about them. What is everyone else running? I am attaching a link to what I was looking at. Let me know what you guys think.

    Here's the kit I'm using:
    Body Mount Bushings Kit - Jeep CJ5 - 2.4101

It's available through Quadratec though the picture doesn't look the same:
Energy Suspension Body Cab Mount Set for 55-73 Jeep CJ

I reused some of my hardware and bought new for what I needed to.
Fastenal lists a 2" OD thick steel washer with a 3/8" hole that would work with this if you need new washers.

There is a good diagram in the TSM for the order that the hardware goes in:

One of the members here made a hardware list. It might have helped if I found it before I began my install, it took me four trips to the hardware store to get everything I needed.

I used omix at first for mine and the rubber wore out and deteriorated within less than a year. I’ve had the energy suspension mounts for a couple years and they still look and feel brand new

I never thought about cutting them from boat trailer rollers, great idea.
I may try that when I assemble the other jeep.

I made my own...did not buy the stuff but found some scrap...super dense but has to be a little softer than boat trailer rollers. it took a little time and was very stinky...but it cut fine with a hole saw and table saw...

I used omix on mine and they started dry cracking in about 6 months. Never had much luck with omix products but they were the closest to original I could find. Next time I’ll use energy suspension

If I had a (full-sized) drill press, I would try making the round insulators from old tires using a hole saw. Prior to '72 (maybe earlier), Jeep used rectangular insulators stamped from old tires. These had a part number and were stocked just like any other Jeep part.

I used the Energy Suspension kit. It was great and has been holding up with all the crap I put my rig through.
