There is, but that’s on the other side of the housing. This one is just a empty hole that’s right next to the other breather.

Thought I’d provide a little bit of closure on this thread. After several months of sitting in my garage with the rear axle torn out, I finally found the time between work and life to get her all put back together. Tried not to go overboard with the “May as wells” while I had it apart, otherwise it’d remain in pieces for a year. Instead tried to limit myself to the “Would be foolish not to” category. So it got things such as new bushings, new U-joints, completely redone rear brakes, not to mention all new seals and bearings in the axle itself. Was actually able to take it for a short drive today down to the corner store and back. Very happy to be driving it again. Thanks to all with your advice. It was very much appreciated. 55CFA795-F084-4B9A-9B0D-93FE3F26164B.jpeg 5D21B2A3-1901-4A1E-BB5E-18372F54E311.jpeg 71A243E3-5ADE-467F-9D3B-FE1F8C76A9F3.jpeg 848EBCA3-8E22-4BAA-B279-EA049D73496D.jpeg
Oh, and ignore the “No Oil” on the diff cover. That was just a reminder to me to fill before I did something stupid and took it for a drive bone dry...

I put an AMC postal axel in my first Jeep a DJ3, while play around in the woods dropped the right front wheel in a hole, the left rear wheel came off the ground. I thought boy I am screwed, I was alone and one rear wheel off the ground. To my surprise it walked right out of the hole, that is when I found out it had a limited slip axel. Good Luck.
