12 forward and 4 in reverse. It can be shifted at any speed and in any gear as long as you use the clutch. Works the same way a 2spd rear axle on a truck does but its easier to use. Available in 25% or Herm sells his ATV in 30% as well. I bought my 30% to be used primarily and a 4th gear on the road. Though i am sure I will play with it off road as well.

The good old google search brought up this thread. I am thinking about sticking the overdrive on and leaving it in high. I may not even bring the shifter up through the floor. 302 Windsor, C4 5.38 gears (which will likely also change). Tyres 31”.

If that's what your thinking - get 3.70 axles and sell the OD - you will be money ahead that way.

I shift 1st, 2nd, 2nd OD, 3rd OD, rarely use straight 3rd unless I'm pulling a hill or in city traffic.

Best I can find so far for a Dana 25 / 44 is 4.88 gears. I’m also in Australia and would likely find it hard to sell on the 5.38.

I will likely get the overdrive (first) and the 4.88 gears (later) and leave it in overdrive. I don’t even think I will bring the shifter up through the floor.

It is absolutely worth adding the shifter. Being able to split ALL the gears is really handy. Especially so off-road. You can easily build your own shifter mechanism if you are missing that.
This is what I made for my 3B:

    This. Agree 100%
    Hell, 110%
It doesn't mean you have to shift through all 6 like you're driving a Mack truck but there's plenty of times when 1st is too low and 2nd is too high (for example).

Having 4 shift levers to play with and being able to split gears is the best car infotainment system ever made. No time for a touch screen.

Please note, my CJ5 has a 302 Windsor and C4. I also don’t have a lot of realestate to do so as I have an auto shifter and 2 transfer case sticks between the two seats. Obviously it’s all further back due to the length of the auto.

That probably isn't much different than my small block Chevy and Auto Gear Equipment's M22 derivative as far as length. You will have to fabricate a custom pivot. Still way more than worth it.

Interesting. You won't be able to split gears with an automatic. You'll most likely need to be in park to shift the overdrive. Neutral might work, but likey the tail shaft will still be spinning a bit.

Was aiming to leave it in overdrive and take off in first (overdrive). Not sure how it will work but could imagine it shouldn’t be an issue as 5.38 or 4.88 are pretty low gears.

Keep in mind that the overdrive units aren't rated for heavy towing. So if you plan to tow with your rig you will want to be able to select direct drive.

That should generally be fine. 4.88 is 3.66 with the OD on and 5.38 is 4.04 with the OD on. As noted above you will want the OD off if doing heavy pulling.

Warn used to have an application note that said to shift it in neutral with an auto.

We had a wagon with a transplant of a 327/turbo350 in it. It used the Husky OD for 2WD only. The guy had rigged a hydro gate so you couldn't put it in 4 WD when the OD was engaged.
