This doghouse has been the bane of my existence.
It needed another mod to clear an intake tube.

It can sit there and be ugly for eternity as punishment.

She will never see it. It’ll be my little dark secret.
It’s covered by so much stuff. And I didn’t even start the gauges or wiring yet.

But in a month or so, when It's settled down and sorry, it will feel so bad that it wasn't painted :(

I hit the doghouse with some leftover blue with a chip brush and a coat of rattle can clear. Here you can sorta see the intake tube that required the need for the 2nd mod.

Cutting these holes for the tail lights was terrifying.
And yes Cary, I broke out the laser level to make sure the bolt holes were level.

I think I see what you’re seeing as Jeep lean. The left side of the bumper isn’t level. When I started this 12 years ago, I cared a lot less about things like that. Still doesn’t bother me much.

I found a convenient home for the fuse panel, and I got the grill all assembled with freshly polished hardware. More on that tomorrow...

    Looks great!

But somehow it seems like there should be a "5%" label in front of that Willys logo...:)

Those seats look so much more comfortable than those plastic race seats....

    Excellent job man, seriously.

    The grill....
The jeep came without marker lenses. These reproductions were on eBay. No clue if they’re correct, but I like them, and they fit my trim rings. I heavily modified some 1157 equivalent LEDs to fit.

This wiring has been giving me anxiety attacks, but I think I’m finally getting a handle on it. It’s going to take a ton of work; it’s designed to be placed above the feet on the driver’s side, so half the wires are too short, and the other half are a mile too long.

I mounted the fuse panel in a spot on the floor where if you slide the passenger's seat all the way forward, it’s fully accessible.

I drilled a big hole in the floor next to the fuse panel for a grommet to run the wiring for the reverse lights, both fuel pumps and the fuel gauge.

    Here’s our new kitten.

    Yay kitty!

If it wasn't for Covid, I'd come up and help with the wiring.

I’m almost looking forward to the new wiring. It’s the old stuff that’s just like a fork stabbed in my shoulder blade. Swapping out 30-pin harness disconnects for 6- and 12-pin versions while getting all the wires the correct lengths and tying them into the new fuse panel....
    :gaah:

I’d much rather be welding something.

Unnamed as of yet. I think we might go with Snickers.

I had a neighbor cat named "Chowder" once. I thought it was a great name.
