Thanks Ron, you're like my brother~ I may have got a little too busy on his jeep dash, but I know I've made an improvement on what my dash did look like;) I'm trying to eliminate unnecessary holes in mine, but I do want the radio in-dash, but as said will be the smaller radio than what I originally intended. I promise it will look nice, but not so much the naked/clean look;)

    what mine did look like:

My brothers dash: I shouldn't have even put a heater in his, and didn't really need dash vents, just seemed like a good idea at the time , I just didn't him coming back to me and say he wants a heater, and he wasn't there most of the time of the build, so I just went by the seat of my pants. Mine is not going to have a heater.

Steve, just takes a little practice on scrap metal, the apply that to your project, and have a good grinder. I use the edge of my 4.5" cut-off wheels to trim excess off vs a regular 4.5" grinding wheel. When I weld sheet metal, I keep a wet cloth near and weld, then cool the metal. It seems to help. I'm waiting on the wiper, ignition, and headlight switch before filling any holes;)

Frame came in~ pretty decent shape, a little tattered on the bottom ridge, but I believe will be ok. I'm amazed how light it is;)

The last couple days I had been working on my brothers '62; put a vacuum reservoir in for the power brakes, upgraded the spark plug wires, got it going 58mph:bananatool:

I'm working on putting my hood on my rotisserie and will work on that until I get it going, then start maybe painting more stuff. and waiting for parts to come as usual~ hurry up n wait:shrug:

Finished fitting my hood to the rotisserie; should make my life a little easier when painting it. It's not perfectly balanced, but will do the trick. I'll more than likely do the body work with it on a stand. Supposed to get up to above a 100 degees today:(
With the newer windshield frame, guess I don't need the holes in the mid-hood.

    I know I know, but this is a woman's jeep~ sound/heat barrier, carpet= plush~er;)

just a test fit~ I'm going to try my best to make it "removable" with least amount of effort by using snaps, but around the shifter~ will have to be held by the retainer for the shifter boot, same for the high/low. I'll have no carpet beneath the gas tank either;)

Its going to look good and be functional.
I like the idea of making it easy to remove so that you will be inclined to remove it if it gets wet, or for periodic cleaning.

Howdy, not a whole lot going on today~ however did make the hole for the radio, then seeing if I can use some of the existing holes while waiting for a switch or two.

Then played around with some stripe ideas, nothing really sticking right now:( Thought mainly with Jeep in the front center and rally stripes coming down the sides of the hood, then saw a simple design here~ again, just playing around;)

just not sure if I want the ignition switch where it is, nor choke

looks horrible, it just helps my brain to see stuff:confused:

Make sure the JEEP font is correct. All Caps. The Jeep (only the J is capitalized) logo was all AMC.

Not my photo, but I always liked how my CJ6 dash came out:

I went all toggle switches for everything. No key. Just a hidden kill switch. Black circles are not speakers - they are heater ducts.

I had carpet too - it was a beach runner mainly. Needed to be barefoot friendly.

Kind of like where the passenger hand rail is vs on the metal dash;) I may take a look to see how that would work before filling even more holes :banghead:

Will do on the JEEP lettering Grant;) Just expressing ideas, I may just wait on the hood, no hurry on it ,but the fenders~ I might just start putting those on the assembly line;)

Working on parts, including fenders and windshield frame. The front fenders are taking up some time, but I think I may be able to get these parts in epoxy tomorrow. However, these 99degree days are taking a toll one me

There are seams that I filled with seam sealer, they would be prone to rust I suppose.

It's actually welded to a rollcage crossmember that isn't visible in the photo.

I did good today despite the 99 degree day, but at least it was a dry heat! Pretty much all that's left to paint would be the roll bar(if I use this one), 5 wheels, a tail gate which I haven't decided to repair this one or not, hm, I'm sure there is something else

This was finished in the matte finish

Gee guys, thanks for all the likes ~ gee, today was just a matter of putting squeaky clean things together in my air conditioned shop! It's 100 degrees here :sick:glad I'm done painting for a while;)

I placed the an order for the windshield glass and rubber part. I found out the wiper motor cover that was on my '68 doesn't fit this one, so off to ebay.
Guess it's time to order the wiring harness and darn it all, still haven't received the sound/heat stuff for the floor!
is there a "kit" that can make the windshield frame more permanent, like a plate that bolts the two together?
