Welp, I just went on spending spree #1.

The paint guy suggested a darker primer color to give better results for the color I chose. I’m ok with that, since I ended up going so thin on the primer the first time around. So I got another round of epoxy primer, a gallon of metallic blue base, and a gallon of clear. Pricey.

I also stopped by 4WP and grabbed the winch I’ve had my eye on.

I dropped a big chunk of hippo cash in the bank so I can go on spending spree #2 online.

I always feel so guilty spending money. It’s no wonder why I’ve always driven junk and made stuff from scrap.

It hurts. It seems so hard to make and so easy to lose!

I do to, it drives my wife crazy sometimes. She will come out and tell me to quit messing around with old stuff and go by a new whatever it is. But in the end it usually feels good to have done something nice on the cheap. Although sometimes my cheap turns out, you know, cheap. That doesn’t feel as good,

The cheaper of the options. I’ll check tomorrow. It was either $2xx for a gallon of color, or $7xx. Funny how the cheaper stuff magically appeared when I was about to turn around and leave. :D

Have you already fabricated a winch plate? I can't wait to see the winch plate of all winch plates. I hope it's covered in this build. I'm guessing you have already made it. Otherwise, you'd have to prime and paint it separately if you're already at the painting stage.

The winch mount is finished... in my head. :contract:

I haven’t built it yet because I needed the fairlead and winch for measurements. The frame horns still need to be straightened and cut to length too. Painting isn’t a big deal; the frame is just tractor paint.

I'm making a bunch of purchases on the credit card to gain miles, and Capital One just locked the card. :banghead:
With every purchase over $300 my wife gets an immediate text at work as a fraud alert. And I get one soon after... "What are you buying?!!"
Before the card lockdown, I managed to get wheels, tires, tach, GPS speedometer, programmable fuel gauge, oil, water and volt gauges, and a wiring harness. I was denied at the turn signal purchase attempt. Still on my list are the tail lights and CV rebuild kit.

I hate spending money on non-essentials so badly that I feel sick to my stomach.

Just out of curiosity, which GPS speedometer did you order. I've ordered all of the smaller gauges, but haven't decided on a speedometer yet.

That's one of the ones I have on my list for consideration. I've looked at it many times.

Seriously. I sat and stared at that for a half hour.

I can’t find two forum posts or wiring diagrams that agree on ohm readings for the stock Volvo fuel sender. I figured by the time I went through all the different rated gauges through trial and error, I could just do this and be done with it. Plus I like how wide the sweep is. That’s the most precision I’ve ever seen in a fuel gauge. The only drawback is, I couldn’t get it with a black bezel. I’ll have to paint it to match all the others.

That's the truth. You could waste hours and hours on that.

Neither of my Jeeps with factory gauges and replacement senders register right. You just have to know that 3/4 tank is full on one Jeep and on the other Jeep you better put gas in real soon when it registers 1/4 tank. I thought about fiddling with resisters or bending float arms, but can't work up any motivation to actually do it.
