2 piece differential still in a 67-69 tapered axle 44. 1/2 machined, 1/2 cast. It does have four spider gears. Numbers stamped into the machined 1/2 5 11 78 DANA 18525A A3D77 44-9. I know the 44-9 = 4.88's. Trying to identify it. is it a power lok or limited slip.
Next foolish question before I break everything down, can I put this in a 71 flanged axle 44 using the spider gears from an open differential?

Didn't really think so, but worth a thought. What about a 2000 D44 Trac-Lok fitting in the 71 offset flanged axle? Amazing the junk (valuable treasures) we end up hanging on to just in case.

Trac Lok is a one piece case limited slip, no bolts holding case halves together.
Powr Lok is a two piece case limited slip, with bolts holding the two case halves together.
The numbers you have posted are off the ring gear.
If it's a Powr Lok, there will be numbers stamped into the case; rotate around until you see them.
No numbers visible on Trac Lok case.

    Numbers are off the Power-Lok
Sometimes it pays to look at the entire sheet you take notes on. Another brain fart
