I had pipes under the frame to side exit mufflers. I crunched them so many times that I decided to build my own exhaust. It is not typical in that the pass side runs around the front of the oil pan to connect to the driver side dump. Tucked up nice and tight. It then runs out the back to a single exhaust and past the rear wheel. Since I have a rear fuel tank there is not much room back there so the muffler is just past the t-case.
Pic of it before install. I have more somewhere else around if there is any interest. Muffler shops around here quoted well over $400 to do this. Cost me under $100 with parts from Summit.

It has crossed my mind to make an exhaust, but the muffler guys are set up to do it, but you did a great job on what I could see! ;)(y)

I made my own about two years ago. I'm hoping in another couple months the trauma and pain will wear off :D. $400 sounds good to me knowing what I know now. It was really hard, but I don't have a lift.

I called the blasting place and they said it's ready and that I should come look at~ he sounded kind of worried that he blew out some rust spots~ which I expected. I told him I expected rust and knew about many places that are going to need attention.

They said they really appreciated the rotisserie and the way the front fenders were "banded" together; that made me feel good about the hard work. I may have to remove the caster wheels as they are pretty much stuck and won't swivel~ I worked on em and they move for now.

It's an epoxy paint, but I didnt' know it was going to be tan, not that it matters.

This is the underneath of the "tool box" beneath the pull up lid.

I haven't made up my mind on the original tail light/back up light holes~ I like what I did on my brothers jeep, but with new era correct, might look nice. the holes are there.

I was impressed by the good epoxy coat, not a run, very smooth.

My new steering column fits the column bracket, I was fearful I'd have to modify it. The column is 28" and for heavens sake I hope it's ok length wise.

I was certain they were going to blast the old filler out, maybe they thought it was a rust hole and didn't want to aggravate it, but I can sand it out.

I'll start looking at installing the steering, and shaft going to the gear. I have some 3/8 dowl rods to mock things up.
ok, got to go get the dogs~ I'll be back;) I'll post some other pics later

    I'd say!

Hahaha, it's your jeep, looking forward to seeing what color you go with it (even if you can see the color from space (y)).

I know there was some hesitation from everyone when I painted my Jeep jalepeno green back in the day. I'm going for white this time around, more timeless.

If I had gone with a 32" steering column, I probably could have had a straight shot to the steering gear, but I'm not buying another steering column.

So somewhere off the motor support I could weld a "tab" to install a DD heim rod holder.

The column/steering wheel (steering wheel is a 2.5" dish) could stand to come towards the driver at least 2", so I ordered a deeper dish steering wheel to see how that works. Can always send it back. I might be able to change to tilt by taking out some metal~ I have to do some metal work at the floor anyway due to the previous owner messing it up. I have such long legs, if I had shorty legs, I'd be able to push the brake/clutch without my knee hitting the steering wheel.

Project is coming along nicely. Really like how the body parts turned out from the blaster. The primer coat looks great and will provide a good base for whatever your final color is. Keep up the great work.

Kind of cuts into my fun not being able to pick what I'd like:( Not very many colors of that era that excites me :(

I picked my brothers jeep color, I think whatever I do choose will look good. However the orange kind of is kind of on the chart :D

Wow- that could have been *SO* much worse. A little bit of sheet & a few sections of hat channel & you're done easy peasy :)

I don't think the color needs to be era correct at all... it's your Jeep, make yourself happy (y)

I think your jeep would look really cool with toyota fj cruiser "heritage blue", mostly because I love that color and it has been vetoed for my jeep.

Thanks, I do too, but every so often (is 25 years the magic number?) you need a change  If anyone is interested, Jalepeno green was a late 90's Ford Ranger color, and IMO looked terrible on the truck. I love it on a Jeep though, hahaha

I was so happy to get my new distributor, it was advertised for the Dauntless, I had to remove a little intake material, then no way the bolt would go in much less the dist cap~ I've asked for a refund, very depressed:shrug:

Swap the bolt for a button head bolt... It'll work and what almost everyone has to do.

    This should help...

    HEI 258 Distributer on a 225?
