On the 2 jeeps I've built, a 75 and just finished a 80, I need thoughts on ride height. Both have the rough country 2.5 inch kits with greasable 1/2 inch shackles. Both jeeps sit low in the front by 3.5 inches. Fixing to sell the 75 so not concerned with it but the 80 with spare tire and full tank of gas just sits too high in the back end. Jeep drives like a dream. Don't want to touch the front end and happy with the ride height. Was thinking about removing the bottom leaf and adding a 1 inch block to try to lower the back end some. My goal would be level. What's yalls thoughts? Why does these kits sit so much higher in the back end?

It saves gas, because you are always going downhill.

My thoughts - if it drives ok, it's purely aesthetic. Lowering the back end reduces your load capacity and suspension travel.

This jeep is just a Sunday driver. Not worried about the suspension travel since this jeep will stay on the road. Just like my rigs to sit level. I ordered a 1 inch block so that will help some and may try removing the bottom leaf. Just seems odd that the back sits so much higher than the front.

do you have a winch or heavy bumper on the front? Fiberglass body?
Any departure from what would be a factory weight and balance will cause the spring rate in the lift kit to be incorrect.

75 has a winch but the 80 does not. Light weight bumper as well
