The speakers are MUCH better when you swap them out with better speakers. I think I fit 4" round boston acoustics in my brg, and it made a huge difference. There are a lot if tutorials on the miata forums.

It's been about 6 years ago, but I can still see the look on Lynn's face when my bride and I showed up in Gettysburg in the miata to pick up a CJ grill and windshield! I'll have to find the picture somewhere. Everything fit perfectly (ish!)

Well, I'll just have to look into that (y), When having the upholstery made, it's a additional charge for the perforated head rest~ I'd probably have it done anyway:D

Found a pic! Hope you don't consider it too much of a hijack, but it's jeep related! Screenshot_20200429-085904_Gallery.jpg

I think I spend more time cleaning than working on the jeep . I hadn't mentioned it, but I'm going to name the jeep after my Mom, she passed away August 27, 2019 (93). She was known as "Sissy", she was my best friend:cry:

Got the new power steering reservoir, the other one the return line was pointed straight back, so this one curves to the front(y) It came in a zinc finish, I kind of like it, but that is subject to change:whistle:

Anyone know the length or part number for the power steering pump. I found the alt on Rockauto, but there were a few differences in the pS belt. I bought two belts which don't fit, were too wide and too short(both):banghead:

Take a length of string or rope and tie it around the pulleys and it should get you in the ballpark.

I'm rather excited, just around the corner from our home is a sandblasting place, they do a lot of restoration blasting. I'm going to take the tub, fenders, grill over next week. They will also shoot an epoxy coating on the parts.

I was looking at my gas tank, the fitting on the bottom has been broken, un-welded itself. Can I braze this back in place? What's the process? fill it with water or something? The inside of the tank looks ok, could use some kind of tank cleaning. I was looking a new tanks, but they're all plastic.

Orange was a hot color in the 60's. Competition Orange would be a cool era correct color. Canary yellow, Candy apple red was popular too.
Not a fan on Plastic fuel tanks. Once cleaned up, you should be able to braze or silver solder the fitting.

The fuel fitting was probably soldered on. Empty it out & let it sit outside for a few days with the filler opening down. Shoot some mig gas or nitrogen in it tape up the holes & you should be good to fix.

Used to work in a radiator shop and after flushing tanks out with water we would then hot tank them to help get the crud out. If the tank needs repair and still smell like gas after the hot tank thing, we would put chunks of dry ice in the tank with a little water. Solder, weld, or braze away once the dry ice creates smoke. No Kaboom

I didn't post this yesterday as I thought maybe the paint was too cracked after I cleaned the speedometer. But when away from it, it's not noticeable, but I have no idea if the gauges work. I was able to test the speedometer and it works very well. I did notice there are no turn signal indicators except for one hole at the top which was/is for something, but in the last picture I found some turn signal indicators which might look kind of retro and more visible that the ones in a new speedometer. I like the single numbers representing speed.
    have a super day everyone~ I'll be back!

You can get Testors model paint that is the exact match for the original needle color. A ways back in my build thread I have pics.

The indicator at the top should be for high beam headlights.
