I have a 1975 CJ5, all original with the V8, except it doesn’t have a back seat. First, was there more than one kind of back seat as an option, and second, suggestions on where I can find an original seat. I am in Iowa and salvage yards here don’t really have many Jeeps.

Got an old Levis Edition rear seat just waiting for me to design a mounting system in the 64 when I get it running.

The old CJ3B site had some info on rear seat mounting with spring lock pins.

Though of fabricating something like this:

    Flatfender Rear Seats on CJ3B.info

That way it would be removable.[IMG]

Only one back seat. Popular factory option, but they are scarce today. You'll have to find a wreck or part-out probably, since no one with a nice Jeep and any sense would give up theirs. I'm in a similar position to you - my Jeep was delivered with a back seat, but it's gone now and only the floor brackets remain.

There are some good threads with discussion of how to fabricate the original brackets - you can see what to look for. Search, and if you have trouble, ask. The original brackets are made of flat steel bar, about 1.75" wide and 1/4" thick, bent like Dave Deyton's picture, but not tubing in '75. A similar locking system is present.
