No top ever, I'm assuming. My rear seat sits slightly forward of that and with the rear window in place the back seat passenger has to lean forward.

That’s the plan (beyond a bikini top). If I ever put a full top on it, I doubt anyone will want to ride with me, so I’d just remove the back seat. My 11 year old is already 5’ 7”, so I’m trying to build this for the most room allowable.

    Choppy choppy. Bars are gone.

I bent these corner braces to take their place. Not the same, but better than nothing.

I was really on the fence about that and decided against it. I’m not sure a ton of strength would be added, and I don’t want it to get too clogged up aesthetically. I like that you can’t see these from the side.

    I would just tack them...

I have a feeling you'll be revisiting the rear bar... :susp:

Without money, I’m down to just bodywork left. I pulled the hood off in order to practice. And it’s a doozie.

I think it was in a collision, then pounded out with a sledgehammer.

I’ve had the head of a small ball peen hammer in the bottom of my drawer for years; no idea where it came from. I made a handle for it today and welded a thick washer to it to convert it to a body hammer. Also made a dolly out of a big chunk of steel.

After about an hour working with the hammer and a shrinking disk, I made some major progress. I was originally considering just using this hood as a skills test bed until I find a better one, but I think I’ll be able to get it close enough to just need a skim coat of filler.

I don’t want to hear about a lumpy hood from you-know-who. :madwife:

If it were mine? I’d wear that hood like a badge of honor.

I would not put any bondo on the hood. It will crack off. I second the idea of a bent up hood.. I didn't fix a lot of my body imperfections and i don't feel one bit bad.. Kinda like it.

It would also make a cool ashtray----

Nice job on the hood and I like your body tools.

that old guy obviously has a lot of experience, I can imagine it would take years of practice just to get it tinned correctly then another 6.83 years to get the lead on o_O
