Wow, you don't waste any time.

BTW, to get the rear drums off, you'll most likely need a hub puller. They are swedged to the hub from the factory, so the hub needs to come off or you need a swedge cutter to remove the swedges.

Yup - usually a weekend to take one apart, bag all the parts, then its time to separate the 'keepers from the krap' in parts and 'stuff'. I tore one down and found a leather bag with almost $15 in quarters down beside the gas tank. Most of them were from the mid to late 70s so it must have been someone laundry mat money.

Brad, I'll wait until I have the frame off and look at the suspension then to look at removal of the remaining 3 drums. Thank you!

    Obviously the Tub is off

I had let a gas line fall and gas drenched the rubbery floor, so out with a couple strips, I may just go ahead and remove the stuff, but the rubber floor on the left side is fine.

The valve lines here are for the auxillary gas tank, just below the steering u-joint. I'm not using that part, but someone went through great lengths to make this work!

I think the heater system is intact except for a defrost hose, but I didn't try to turn it on, but the heater core(looks aftermarket) is holding coolant and doesn't leak, might be ok. I wouldn't be using it as I have other ideas. But am going to clean it up and put it on a shelf for now, well, when I get it out.

This "overload" thing is on the right front but not the left. I could probably remove it, but when I get new springs, it may be ok?

My brother Robo has been assisting me, and offered to pressure wash the frame/engine before he left for today;) I'm really enjoying working with him~ however I still have some things to do on his 62.

It's supposed to rain for the next few days:(, but I am wanting to pull the engine/trans/diffs and get down to a bare frame over the next few days, HOWEVER, I need to get to the steel store as I want to fabricate a couple dollys, one for the frame and one for the Tub~ still contemplating what to do on a rotisserie! ugh;)

Just thinking out loud, but if I wanted to install a regular brake/clutch swing arm type, what year, or what would I use? I'll be doing away with heater system, so I'd have room for whatever. Again, just thinkin;)

I get claustrophobia looking at this master cylinder

That "overload thing" is to prevent your front driveshaft from hitting the bell housing when the springs compress.

I used a hanging pedal assembly from a YJ for my restomod. A set from a 70s era CJ is also an easy swap in. You will obviously need to reinforce the tub where the heater was located and may need to cut and bend the pedal arms to match the early CJ5 floor angles.

Looks like a pretty complete project Jeep.

Here I go again, rushing into buying stuff! lol Actually the price Kyle on a new Roxor isn't very bad at all, but I'll bide my time. Today I'm fabbing up a dolly/cart to roll around the tub on. Spent way too much time at the steel store!

Only took me a couple hours to fab the rotisserie once I had the steel for it. Couple slip joints and it comes apart nice and easy.

Warloch, could you please post a picture of your rotisserie? Just like to see it in action if you took pics. I'm depressed as my steel place just doesn't seem to have the rotisserie part, you know, where the pipe turns inside the other pipe, the the square tubing selection there aren't very good square tubing allowing one to slip over the other, but just too large and would be very sloppy:( Maybe I'd better find another steel place.

I fabbed up my cart/dolly for the tub, or frame depending on which I'm working on. It'll be nice to have for general stuff~ I'll post a pic tomorrow, just need to buy some casters and paint the cart;)

I googled this, well went to eBay and found this. It's a YJ so it says. and this would work? I'm not buying anything right now, just shopping you know. It's going to be months before I'm to that point~ remember, I'm not finishing this jeep within several months like I did my brothers. ;)

Yes, that's what I used for my '65. We did cut and bend the pedal arms to match the CJ5 floor.

Find a local YJ in a junk yard and pull the pedal assembly, the power brake booster and master, and the booster mounting bracket, along with the clutch master cylinder all together. You will need to reinforce the firewall with some sheet metal, then drill the firewall to get it all to mount up. This also uses a hydraulic clutch, so it depends on how you want to actuate your clutch. It wouldn't be too hard to adapt this to use a cable instead of the hydraulics. My transmission is an SM465 with the stock Chevy hydraulic slave bell housing. Advance Adapters and Extreme Custom Fabrication both sell hydraulic slave cylinder conversion kits that might work for your motor & trans combo.

you know Mike, I've never been in a junk yard~ So I'd just use about everything on the YJ firewall (the booster will fit with a dauntless?), and if worn out, just do the Amazon thing;)

Yes, you could even grab the YJ proportioning valve and brake lines if you wanted and do a disc brake conversion. Or you could keep yours with manual drums, it all works.
I'm using a 7" booster with my LS and an 8" would fit, so if the stock booster doesn't fit the Dauntless, you could grab a smaller one.

I have a thread here titled picked up a 71 for a buddy of mine.
There are some pics of our YJ pedal install. We plated the firewall, tied the pedal set into the dash/cowl and tied the firewall plate to the steering column. It’s really solid..... we then heated and bent the pedal arms to match the cj5 firewall/toe board angle when fully compressed to the floor.
