    Looks like an undercoating gun to me. A picture of the nozzle end would be a big help to know for sure.
    Actually quick web search suggests it's a standard conventional gun, or at least the 18 with no suffix is.

    I can tell you Binks made good guns, but a lot of special-purpose guns are out there or ones that needed ancillary equipment (agitator, separate pot, etc.).
    I think even the best of the old guns did a poor job of getting the paint on the surface, they did atomize the paint well so produced little orangepeel. Since the quality of the job was unaffected by how much paint you did or didn't actually get on the surface and automotive lacquer was cheap and comparatively non-toxic that made a lot of sense in the day, if you care how much paint you use, you might want to use another gun.

    That binks would go with a pressure pot for undercoating or adhesive need to see the top and cap.
