Does anyone know of a good hand stapler? Putting up insulation in the new garage and am getting tired of clearing jams and misfires.

The old standby staple gun for every builder I know is the Arrow T-50. An ocassional spritz of lubricant keeps them running reliably.

Most of us also have a hammer-style "wacker-tacker" for fast work where accuracy is not vital.

I picked up an air stapler from harbor freight for doing motorcycle seat covers, and it’s worked flawlessly. It uses the standard Arrow T-50 staples.

Bostich electric has served me well. Many, many bats of insulation installed with it.

I vote Hammer style. I have been using the same one for 30 years. Stanley heavy duty model. No power needed, can use it anywhere and your thumb doesn’t get tired from squeezing the trigger, oh and they are damn fast.

You really have to use the right staples for the gun. Just because they say they are the right size doesnt mean the gun likes them. My slap stapler is a craftsman but im sure they dont make it anymore its been good

The only issue is sometimes, (right after you load it) the little staple retainer gets cough and falls out and you have to go looking.

I know where there is an attic with a real nice fairly new Romex wire stapler. It went to insulation heaven and hasn't been seen since... :susp:

I've grown fond of electric staplers... :D
