T90 Transmission Question - What's My First Gear Ratio?

My T90 was adapted to my V6 at some point.

My research tells me that if my 1963 stock drivetrain included an f-head that it would have been running a T90C transmission. (with the more desirable 3.34 first gear)

    1. What I see is that I have the normal longer adapter/spacer/mount that connects it to my 198 V6, which is about 4" inches long, as opposed to the newer Novak/thin style adapter that can use the stock input shaft.

    2. I am reading that this longer adapter required the installation of a non-stock input shaft, and gear, possibly from a kit, possibly from a Willys wagon transmission? Correct?

When I pop the cover of the T90, this assumption seems correct, since I'm seeing 18 teeth and not 16 on the input gear, like I was expecting with the 90C.
What I read on Advance adapters site, is that when you are replacing a 16 tooth input shaft, you are required to install a different cluster gear.

Would this cluster gear have been added to the install to MAINTAIN the 3.34 first gear?

If not, what is my new ratio with this setup? Somewhere between 2.79 and 3.34?

    thanks,

It's now a T-90A with the long input gear from a Utility Wagon. The cluster gear has to match the input gear; no mixing parts possible. If it ever was a T-90C, those ratios are gone.

You have either an 18/33 tooth combination (T90A or T90J), or a 16/35 tooth combination (T90C). There are no others if you have T90 gears. The T90J is the long input version used on early Wagons and Trucks.
