I don't think it is . The one that came with my 1965 Tuxedo Park looks different. It has a rounded base with a taller chrome cover that holds a glass lens and covers the base of the light. I will try to get a photo and post it.

yeah thats what it looks like on the pictures but a closeup would be great. You dont think it could just be missing the chrome cover?

Nope, not even close. The correct light is chromed pot metal and has an overall length of 3.4", and has a 2.5" dia base and 1.5" main body with a glass window that slides into the hollow inside. It has a rounded end. The light mounts on a folding license bracket.
I can't attach photos, but PM your email and I'll send you a photo or two.

A place on the East Side of Detroit, it came back like Brand New, He silver soldered all the pits in and copper plated it buffed coppered it again buffed it more until it was perfect, nice guy. Let me know I will get the Number for you if you what it. He charged me $50.00, but his partner, his Father said it was too cheap, so it may be more next time. The guy is really good.

Thats the correct way to fix pot metal. I've had Advance Plating in Tenn. do some pot metal tail light bezels for a British car. Same proceedure, and more than $50.

Can anyone identify how this comes apart so I can change the bulb on mine? Also the glass in mine is broke. Anyone know where to find another?

Just finding the license plate bracket is very difficult. I have never seen just the glass tube by itself for sale.
To take apart, loosen and remove those two small nuts on the studs, then it will pull apart.

Just a suggestion but if I were missing the glass I would find a bottle the right diameter and cut it to size. You can cut it by tieing a string soaked in lighter fluid or acetone or nail polish remover around it and light it let the flame burn out and dunk it in cold water. The bottle will snap at the string. Or you can just use a plastic bottle lol

There was a NOS glass lens a couple years ago on eBay. They were asking $95 for it. It was there for a couple months, but its not been up for ages. I doubt it sold for the asking price.
The original lens is heavy fluted/ribbed glass, shaped like a test-tube. I've seen a halogen light fixture that uses a similar size/shape frosted bulb cover, but don't know if it was similar enough to work.
The bulb has a very small globe (about the size of the socket), and needs to be very low wattage.

    (Edit)
Playing with a license light last night, and learned something new. The whole bulb socket assembly snaps in to the back of the light with a tension socket. The wire runs up the center, and twisting sideways a bit will release the long bulb holder. Its still tight to get to, but requires less work and lessens the chance to mess up the studs.
It just didn't make sense to use the mounting studs to access the bulb for service.

Look up Harry Sheets with Midwest Willys. It has been a while, but last time I went he had a NOS glass lense.
