Hi y'all, went to start the F-134, but the new fuel pump failed. Love the glass float bowl to see what's going on. It just wasn't sucking the fuel from the gas can. But could put the pump in a vise and noticed the arm which rides on the cam was extremely sloppy. For grins, re-installed the pump and worked for a couple seconds then quit. Called Mike at Kaiser and they're sending another pump, but kind of ruined the moment for my brother, ok, and yours truly.

However, there is still plenty to do; I finished up the wiring under the dash(not the picture as below)and underneath the vehicle. Went ahead and put on all the boltable stuff to give a visual of a finished product of which it is not.

The decals I had made, but they made them in a gloss (I told them matte) which I didn't like but installed them anyway. Rob painted the seat frames so we could installed them for a 'Glamour shot'. The seats in my opinion look great and are very comfortable. I believe the bolsters will be an asset to keep ones butt in the seat, not that it will be driven aggressively.

Now Rob just needs to bite the bullets for a windshield, he's so hesitant about ordering things. However, I have a local guy that I've used for all my classics and have installed at reasonable prices vs what the store bought glass goes for.

My other projects were longer term projects and so the cost of parts was absorbed over a few years, but this project went quickly requiring parts ASAP so the money went quickly.

I did save Rob money on a bunch of my labor, my shop, tools, etc, computer time in searching, ordering, here on the ECJ5(which he hadn't even looked at:( ), I thought he'd at least chime in:(

As said, I've tidied up the wiring since this picture. I'm not installing the floorboard until I feel, hear the transmission go through all its gears with an actual test drive. Once I've done my part, he can take it home and continue, but I know my brother all too well, I'm sure he'll put it up for sale as he really doesn't have my passion, patience for this type project. But I hope he keeps it as it is a good looking thing;)

I could see myself doing a project like this on my own as it was quite enjoyable and look occasionally for a '60-70's model or whatever comes up. I'd like a larger engine, but this is all talk, perhaps next year and get all the holidays past.

You guys are so kind, and greatest of compliments from my fellow classic car folk;) I work very hard, however, play has a different meaning these days~ I just soon drown myself in my shop and skip the holidays;)

This morning, my husband was away so I spent a great deal of time putting tools where they belong, cleaned the floor, make it look roomy again. I truly love my shop;) I've been asking Gary for the longest time to put a big screen TV, not for TV, but maybe continuous movies, or music videos. I don't know.

I just love these headlights! Ah the simple things;)

Not sure about fender flares, might look good, might not, but a step up bar might keep feet off of the paint.

Kids and grandkids should start showing up today, so garage life is kind of on hold:( You know I lose more sleep thinking of cool stuff to do to whatever project, no wonder I have insomnia!

Hi y'all! Kind of wrapping the end of the year here. Heading to Philadelphia for several days to see our middle daughter still being tortured by medical school.
I got the wiring almost completed except for the horn.
Down below shows how I incorporated a back-up light into the mix of things. The cheapy LED tail lights work very well for only 25.oo. Let's see how long they last. The old holes for the tail lights~ probably just put some round or rectangular reflectors back there. Or I did buy a small piece of aluminum checker plate, might look OK. I've an idea for a license plate light, so that will be easy.
Still waiting on a fuel pump:(

So, I guess I'll see you (figure of speech) all soon! Hoping for a test drive soon!

I think this is the last blog of this year;)

When putting the gear shifter into reverse, the plunger or whatever it's called is perfect for an actuator for the back up light. IT's close quarters, but will be ok!~

Dne, I was thinking of going with a more modern combo light like what you put in instead of the separate reverse and tail lights on my ‘72. Any wiring issues? Did you just route and splice the separate reverse lights wires to the appropriate wires on the new combo housing?

Hi rusty;), I installed a new wiring harness from horrid wires.com and it’s basically a gM wiring. On the leds that I installed, just had to figure out which wires were what, no biggy. Once figured out, I soldered all the connections, no problems. Even the flasher worked with fronts still standard and rears being led. Before making new holes in my fresh paint, I hooked up all wiring to make sure all worked, it did fine, so drill away I did;)
    I hope this helps;)

I’m on my iPhone at the airport, I bought a switch from toms bronco parts(had to modify), then there is a variety of led lights on eBay under Jeep tail lights.;)

It's going to be a Classic Cars and tools B D party, something different than just in the house; I've been cleaning my shop~ my husband bought me a 50" Tv! ;) I'm thinking we're going to cater in some Bar-b-que, I also ordered some Classic Cars & Tools T-shirts for my family guests as gifts. I've got to get all my classics nice n clean~ hoping for good weather.

Awesome CJ, and awesome garage. Both put me to shame! How do you like the maxjack? I’ve contemplated them for a while. Great build

Thank you Stano and my other friends;) As for my Maxjax(s), I have two complete maxjax's and one extra column.

    http://www.classiccarsandtools.com/tools-4/maxjax/

Back in August 27 of 2017 when Harvey hit, speaking only of my equipment in our old home, my Maxjaxs were submerged for a couple weeks in some pretty nasty waters. I lost one of my maxjax pumps/motors, but one is still operating, noisy, but still working. A new pump/motor assembly is 450.oo, I have a couple columns hydraulic cylinders leaking, functioning, but enough to make mess. I have repair seal kits for the cylinders, just haven't gotten around to those yet. A new hydraulic cylinder is about 350 last I checked. However, I've had my MJ's for several years and I've gotten a lot of service out of them.
My main line about them is, "When you don't need the Maxjax, unbolt it and move it out of the way". I modified my pumps to be fit on a wall and then lengthened the hydraulic hoses. I feel they are a necessity and beats the heck out of a floor jack any day, but we always will need a floor jack n stands. I feel a low/tall set of jack stands are necessary for added safety, and epoxy anchors are a must despite the added cost.

I have just spent 30 minutes looking for these low/tall jack stands! argh, but I find these to be essential and actually they saved my life recently;) You can put a vehicle up, put the stands, remove the maxjax;)

hm, today, welded some new 1/4" weld-tabs (7 needed installed) for the floor board large floor panel, installed the gas tank sending unit, installed the horn. Still waiting on the fuel pump:( Need Rob to order a new steering wheel~ I have a 100 dollar credit with Kaiserwillys for the blog on their power booster setup, I can perhaps order that tomorrow along with some other tidly-bits ;)

I have two complete sets of turn tables, once upon a time for 4 wheel alignments, but these help with a least setting the toe in.

This is just the coolest build! I’m really digging the matte paint job, especially in orange.

I just read through your blog, really enjoyed it, very thorough(y)
