This padded topper will be hinged separately and held down with a magnet. Lift it to access the latch.



The small box in front is for the radio... something like the gauge unit I posted the other day.



I considered a cup holder of some sort, but it seemed like a waste of space down there. I’ll make something to clamp to the roll bar above the shifters at some point.

Are you going to set that on the floorboard between the seats? If you are put some feet on it of some type or it will cause corrosion to the floor. DAMHIK.

I like the concept though.

 

Stick that to the dash and the drink will hit the cage.

It’s getting mounted to the cage between the seats. I’m trying to knock out everything that requires tabs welded to the cage so I can finalize it for paint.

 

Do you need a place for a CB radio, a ham radio, or a hand held radio?

 

I’ll cross that bridge when I come to it. Probably just a mount under the lip of the dash would do.

 

Be prepared for disappointment.

I got the box done this morning.



I bent some strips to 110° and welded them along the top to make the rim stiffer and pleasant to reach past. I bent the front/center area square to act as the catch for the latch.



Here it is in place. This is in 4th gear, as close as the shifter will get.



I haven’t checked yet to see if the driver’s arm rest is removable. I hope it is.
