Me too. It’s the main reason I’m using a paint that is easy to touch up. I’ve already found a few uglies.

I had a sub frame that I made on my tent trailer dip galvanized. Worked very well...

But did add some weight to the frame...

    Check out Rapco Parts Company

I used his paint on my trailer, he has a hardener that will make it shine.

Trailer. He only has the Strata blue, which was not dark enough.

Flipped the frame this morning to do the other side, plus some other small parts and the gas tank.

Even with the hardener, this will still take forever to cure. I have some fall house projects I need to catch up on, so I’ve got time to just let it sit.

So glad this part is behind me.

I like repurposing ubolts. I stop by the spring shop near me from time to time and grab a few cutoffs from heavy trucks. I like using the Mack Camelback style ones for pull rope attachments.

I put it through the front of the tube and I drill a 1 inch hole for each leg in the back of the tube, weld front, plug weld rear and Voila, I start speaking French, or something.

Sometimes you just need to walk away.

I’m taking my time, doing this frame assembly with as much patience as I can muster. I installed the brake lines with little insulated P clips that are drilled and tapped into the frame.

I had a few zip ties holding the lines together while they were off the frame. I was (wrongly) using a wire crimper to cut the zip ties off, when I cut through one of the long lines. :banghead: :steamed:

If it wasn’t right on the corner, I’d consider adding two flares and a union.

Trying to look at the bright side - I was going to have to buy another roll of this tubing just to finish the little sections on the rear axle; at least now the purchase is more justified.

For anyone who’s never worked with nicopp tubing before, use caution. This stuff is soft!

Nicopp is nice stuff. It bends around easier than any other brake tubing, and flares real nice too. I have rolls of stainless that are much harder to work with. I had to get a real flaring tool to finish the ends on the stainless.
At least you have a pattern for the next line, and maybe can still use either end for short runs.

    Plugging away...
    Getting this reassembled...
    Ignoring that brake line...

I’m working towards fitting the rear axle back under it. I have some tabs I need to weld on and some other parts that need finish welded, then I can clean it up and paint it, along with the front radius arms. I want to get a seal kit for the front axle before I tackle that.
