The final verdict on Interior, seat color on top the rest on the bottom.
Everything is ordered so I can't change my mine

Well made a trip to JoAnne fabrics. Got the burlap, HD foam, 1/4" foam for panels and the roll of vinyl came today. Thank God for coupons. Got 50% off. Dang foam was expensive

My attempt at new seat upholstery

    First some burlap

I picked this up at lowes in place of the jute

So..... what you're looking at is a $ 62.00 PC of foam that I couldn't get the seat cover over. I took an electric knife and sliced it in half and still too tight.. what I settled on was the burlap, synthetic carpet padding then I put on 2 layers of 1/4" foam and the seat cover has 1/4" foam so that's 3/4" of foam.....more on that

The back I did burlap and the 2" foam and the cover slipped right on

The finished product, now, the seat is comfortable without the thick foam, the cover isnt "puffy" like the back.

The issue I have is I'm 6' 2" and I feel I'm sitting too low (knees are bent too much) to be comfortable on a longer ride. The original seat cover only had a about an inch or so of padding. Thinking about trying 1/2 more of padding but I know I should leave well enough alone

Color looks good with the red

John, maybe figure out a way to compress the seat springs and hold them until you slip the cover on and then "release" them. I'm thinking mash the frame/springs between two pieces of plywood and zip tie or tie wire the springs until you slip the cover on. Might work

Can you raise the whole seat? Adding foam to an already tight cover can be tricky.

I can't raise it. The back of the seat is actually mounted on the back of the cab. The seat base doesn't look right to me, looks flat like it needs more cushioning. Maybe I'm just too anal

Just wasn't happy with it so I took it to a friend of mine who dabbles in this stuff. She took the whole thing apart saw that the cover was smaller than the frame a bit. So we "rolled" the corners of the frame in a little then she took the foam and beveled it all around the perimeter. Good idea eh. So we got it done. Looks amazing and feels so much better

Today was make a headliner day, i used 1/8" waterproof cardboard, same as i used for the glove boxes I make and sell. I stretched the 1/4" foam a bit,

    Using commercial contact cement

Sprayed both the foam and cardboard and just layed it on and rolled it

Then did the same with the vinyl

I am a bit skeptical on whether this is going to stay stuck to the sound deadening material but you can't peel this stuff off once stuck so well see. Sprayed with contact cement

Now I'll just fit the panels good to the headliner and wrap them

It amazes me how it comes back from the machine shop and it instantly gets a coat of paint, excellent!
