Well now, you seem to understand about Pirate 4x4, so do you also understand how agressive your post sounded? You did tone it down so thank you.

So your trying to use a retrofit serpentine setup out of a 350 Chevy I assume? sounds cool.........but without seeing what you have it's hard to reply in a way to help............If your going to use the serp belt setup , that pretty much sets your course of action for custom brackets.....not easy to get all the spacing , between idlers and brackets correct and still find a belt length that also gets you there.

You mentioned you went that way because the factory V6 brackets are in the way of your steering? and you didn't like the low bracket......FYI , there is also a high mount factory PS bracket that was used with the drivers side front dump exhaust manifold that might help your situation ......... have you explored that and / or looked at moving the steering some to accommodate either?......brackets can be made and some of us do it all the time , but even the simplest brackets have to be positioned properly and have an adjustable arched slot cut into the bracket for belt tension , for that I use a rotary table on a mill to accomplish that.
The conversion over to a Serp pulley on these old pumps may be an issue.........or not as I have never tried?

Serpentine Systems also drive some accessories “backwards”. We’re you aware of that? All depends on the the routing of the belt, the number of accessories, etc. for example, Jeep Cherokee 4.0’s ran the water pump one direction yet Jeep YJ’s and TJ’s with the 4.0 ran it the opposite direction.

This is my "high mount" bracket, it came from a '70 skylark.

If space is your biggest consideration, I would suggest getting a power steering pump from a Jeep Cherokee the ones I am familiar with are quite small, and have remote reservoirs that can be mounted anywhere, and come with both V belt and serpentine pullies depending on year, should be able to pick one up at your local pick and pull for cheap. If not, I have one with a serp pulley I'll send you, for shipping cost. The ham can Saginaws are available with both types of pullies as well. The one I removed from a 95 Silverado with hydroboost had a serp pulley.

You don't need a fully equipped machine shop with a 5 axis Haas CNC to build what you want, it can be accomplished with very basic tools. Quality and appearance are dependent on your ability and patience. Ask around, someone you know, knows someone local that can give you a few pointers and maybe help.. By building your brackets, you can put the PS pump where it fits best. Don't be discouraged by the nay sayers here. I assume you are building this Jeep for your self, therefore you are the one that has to be happy with it, no one else! Good luck!
