So, here are 3 separate clips.

I'd say it's " pliable" I've been happy just getting leaf sprung suspensions to deflect with me on the bumper....

Why am I expecting to see a Bad Obsession Motorsports tea mug sitting on the fender?

Wow! Okay now I feel guilty for asking my question. I didn't mean to cause you a bunch of work or make you post videos. But thank you. You more than satisfied my curiosity!

I LOVE the way it works and can't wait to see it in action!:bananatool:

That is genius. Really controls the bucking in the original suspension design. Should make for some smooth trail rides

No problem! Happy to do it. Aside from having to hear my own voice, of course. :(
I've been wanting to do that for a while now anyway to really see what the difference was with/without the sway bar attached. Once I get the rear one hooked up, it should also make a substantial difference.

No mic, just an old iPhone 5c balanced precariously on an upright board.

I told my client I'll have to delay spraying their cabinets for a few days because I can't keep the shop warm enough in single digit nighttime temps. So, I bought a few more days of fab time!

I took a few hours today and made a battery tray, and a place to put it.

No over-the-top battery hold down clamps for me! A lot of foreign cars use batteries with ridges along the bottom to use for clamping at the base. I've always liked that, and I have a spare battery, so... why not? The only drawback is the price; they tend to be quite pricey.

I made a tray out of angle iron and square tubing. The rear has a section of 1/2" x 1/2" tubing inside that the base lip of the battery slides under, then there's a hinged "gate" across the front that closes and holds the front down.

Next, the place it goes: the opposite side of where I put the power brake booster. There is so much wasted space under there, I just had to use it.

Negatives? This side's fender will also need modification, the fender will need to be removed to access the battery, the battery will need a heat shield of some sort, and I had to notch it into the floor a little, but overall I'm really happy I won't have to put the battery in the cab like I'd planned.

    Floor notch:

    Clearance underneath:

Gate opened: (Slide the battery forward a half inch and it lifts out.)

Bonus! I checked the mail on the way up from the shop, and this was in there! Courtesy of eBay for $38 shipped, and days early! Now I can start on the steering shaft.

You could make the floor notch a little bit longer and have a battery access panel from inside the Jeep...

I thought about that, but I'd really like to keep the access panels to a minimum. Leaks, rigidity, lack of patience... I'm already going to have one to access the distributor on the back of the head. Unless of course you donate your 240 with the conventionally located distributor. :sneak:

Steering shaft is in and the column is propped in place! It fits!!
    :bananatool:

I had to do a little massaging to the dash to get the column's tube to fit in the notch that was originally for the column shift. I heated it red-hot and hammered a section of pipe into the "V" to make it a "U".

So now the column fits in there like this:

The column took two days to make work. It's the main body from an Isuzu Rodeo, the lower bearing from a Volvo 850 column pressed into a piece of random tubing welded to lengthen the rodeo column, and the DD shaft from a Volvo 740. I like the Isuzu column because it is all heavy steel, has tilt, it has a big, real U-joint in the tilt section, and a collapsable shaft inside. I'll box in all the uglies with a roll cage mount and make it presentable.

The clearances are perfect. I can't believe everything fell into place.
I have 1/4" between the engine bay cage upright and the shaft, about 3/4" between the shaft and the starter, and about the same between the shaft and the brake booster.

I made a little Art Deco box!

This box is getting welded to the cage. The column bolts up inside the box. Not the most elegant solution, but the column is an odd shape, and a box worked better than a round tube(which would have had to be massive).

I made the upper section of the column out of tubing to mimic a stock column so I can use a universal turn signal switch. Ya know... like an old Jeep!

I don't have a wheel yet, but I kept the tapered/splined fitting that was molded into the Rodeo wheel. With that, I can adapt almost any wheel to it.

The other day, @Buildflycrash posted a pic of his empty garage, happy that his project was out and wrapping up.

    Mine is a sad day.

She got officially put on hold and moved up to the house. Gotta pay the bills.
