It's an engine bay cage/shock mount clearance issue. I'll mitigate it by running two longitudinal runners with lateral spreaders, rather than a lateral front hoop and longitudinal runners like I originally aimed for. It'll actually work out better in the long run by giving me more room everywhere I need it.

Rather than a hoop following the profile of the grill w/tubes going back to the firewall from it like I'd planned (that would get in the way of the headlights), I'm going to go this route instead:

I used h4 , conversions, then installed LED bulbs, nice bright white light.
Cut the back out of my stock bucket, then extended them with Coffey cans?

Dad's M38 has never had the backs of the buckets since he bought it in the mid 80's, and likely hasn't had them since it had the V8 install sometime in the 70's. No issues ever with H4 conversions. You just see the back of the bulb/plug. I cut the back of the buckets off of mine too. The 3A buckets stick into the engine bay just a little farther than M38 buckets do. The current buckets in my 3A I believe are from a wagon. They are the Aluminum ones, but mostly similar to 3A style.

    Good to know. Thanks.
I got around my initial concerns with some redesigns, but I'm not out of the woods yet. I still might have to do something about them if I can't find a radiator to fit in my allotted space. The one I planned on using is too big.
