Rocker panels were looking pretty rough so It was time to cover them up and add some strength. This is what I came up with. Now just to pull them off an paint.

That looks great. I will need something similar. D
Details? Dimensions? Is that a bolt welded in the end for a filler?

Formed piece is 11 gauge with a 3/4” brake in it to go under the tub. The other is a 1”x2” 7 gauge channel with about a 55 degree cut at each end and welded shut. It only looks like a bolt, it’s where I stopped welding.

I did it like this so it wouldn’t hang down or out to far and have some strength.

Great job!!! Are you going to go with rounded head bolt or stay with hex head?

I have a bunch of 5/16 bolts with washers from parting out stuff that I’m using.

That's one thing I love about this page, for some nothing but brand new shiny stuff for others used and rusty is the way to go. I'm somewhere in the middle - I soak my old blots in mineral spirits for a couple minutes before I put 'em back to work.

I like that design, beefy, but not protruding, I may copy that
