i dont want to jinx it, but im going next thursday to pick it up. leaving thursday night, load it up friday morning, and then begin the 15 hour treck home. turn and burn operation....

he also has 4 additional FCs and one is running drive-able shape. i may buy an entire other FC and pick it up in spring. im bringing a suitcase full of cash, as money talks...and since this is my first FC project, and there are no more left in captivity, im going to buy everything i may need if its all together and in one spot.

So this thread has inspired me to look into a new project of my own and I may have spoken to the guy you are getting that can from about one of his other FCs. If you don't haul them all home I might be making a trip myself

There are tunnel differences as stated between 150's and 170's, but there are also differences between narrow track cabs and wide track cabs within the FC-150 model. I don't thing there is anything that is going to wholly prevent you from swapping them around however.

This project looks like fun. A guy I know locally redid one, but frankly was in great shape and could have been left as is. Here it is in all its glory. Good luck with project

I'll just still leave this here. There's a guy on pirate who's just starting his build. He's dropping the body on an F350 frame and drivetrain. Could be interesting.

All right. I didnt go to Kansas. It didn't exactly fall through, but I wasn't getting enough confirmation from that guy to make me want to chance a 30 hour drive.
Instead I went to Chicago and picked up a complete (less bed) 59 narrow track, low hood fc150. This cab is in above good shape. Going to put it on the wide track frame.
Guy was asking 1000. I took it home for 600. Selling the lame wheels and slicks asafp.

The narrow tracks are a bit different beast, but you will likely have enough parts to cobble something together. I'm plotting to put my '57 narrow track body on a Scout ll chassis/axles.

you guys think these wheels would look nice with a nice set of offroad tires on them? racing slicks have to go, but i am starting to kinda dig the old school aluminum.

Was looking back through your thread and realized this picture was throwing me off...and brought up a question:

So how do you access the engine other than the top cover access lid inside the cab between the seats? I think there is also an access panel on the rear of the cab that you could access from the bed? Finally, the reason these questions came up was I assumed the entire cab hinged forward - sort of like an old semi - but then realized in this pic that you tilted the cab rearward, which would not be possible with the bed on...
