I’m starting to re do some of the brake lines and replace the master cylinder on my 69 cj5. My question is would you Guys suggest a single flare or double flare on the brake lines.I know in years past I have single flared many brake lines with no problem. Also should I make a few “coils” in the lines between the master cylinder and the distribution block?

The coils are to allow movement and flex between a body/firewall mounted MC and frame mounted brake lines. A 69 should have a frame mounted MC (if original), this makes the coils unnecessary as it is all mounted to the frame.

    Yes, but false logic.
The single-flare guys who did have a problem aren't here to tell us about it.

Double flaring is not that hard. With a very basic hand tool I can do a double flare in four minutes.

Double flare. Blow some coin and get a quality flare tool.

Preparation of the line is key. Bad prep=bad flare.
