The gentleman restoring my Ren II called me up one day and said he got an old Jeep in trade for some work, and wanted to know if I might know of anyone that was interested in it. I was going to pass thinking it was a CJ-7 but when he said Scrambler I said "I'll take it". Just got it down to Georgia.

Its in excellent shape for being in original condition coming out of Kansas. Has 64,000 original miles. Supposedly it sat in a barn since 1992. I believe it since I cleaned out about 30 lbs of mouse turds.

Has an AMC 150, T-4, D300, D30, and AMC 20. A little disappointed that it has 3.54 gears in it, but that's not the end of the world. I plan on cleaning it up really well first, then making it run and drive and going from their. Gives my Jeep fix while my early 5 is still under the knife and undriveable.

Test drove one of those many years ago. Low mileage trade in, and after driving it with the 4 cyl, I knew why.....
Underwhelming power, acceleration, high gear was good for going downhill.
With 3.54 gears, you may find it better than the high 2's the one I drove had.
At least yours looks free of the East Coast tin worm infestation we see so often.
That should be a nice base to improve on(y)

Thanks guys! Right now I‘m thinking about swapping some 4.10 gears in, trying not to get ahed of my self though. It has a small spot on the drivers side tub and a couple small patches on the floor that will need rust repair but overall its in pretty good shape. I wish my 5 was this nice when I found it. It was completley rotted out

4.10's would be a good ratio. That's what was factory in 4cyl YJ's and seemed a good compromise.
    Great find!

I had a 92 YJ with a 4 cyl and 4.10s. It drove fine on everything but interstates over 65 mph. 5th gear was really optional. I think 4.10s in this thing would be perfect. I guess 3.54 was the standard ratio for a 4 cyl and 4.10s were a tow package deal in the 80s CJs

I spent my evening trying to clean the seats. Cleaned up better than I thought they would. IMG_2382.jpg IMG_2384.jpg

Scramblers bring twice the money of a comparable CJ7. Probably a big money maker for you once you get it cleaned up.

Thanks! I don‘t plan on selling it anytime soon as its my wife‘s favorite type of Jeep. But i find it funny it seems to be easily worth more than my Renegade II
